Andre the Giant: Don’t Mess With A Drunk Wrestler 60 Tall Boys Deep

WWE Hall of Fame
For Andre the Giant, six bottles of Mateus Wine was a common theme before his matches. This accomplishment and many more tales were divulged from Floyd Gerald Brisco to Tampa Bay Times.

At 520 pounds and standing 7’4, the WWE Hall of Famer didn’t have a preference where he drank or a low tolerance. During a trip in Florida, from Sarasota to Dale Mabry, Brisco said two cases of tall boys were downed. That’s 60 tall boys in an hour’s drive, which comes to one a minute.

Drinking often leads to fights and tossed with testosterone, is like adding liquor to a fire. Of course, liquor makes people do dumb things; like challenge a giant to a fight.

“He was one of the nicest guys but I have seen idiots in bars all over the country challenge him, and with one little shove they’d be 10 feet away,” said Brisco.

In 1993, Andre the Giant, birth name André René Roussimoff, passed away from congestive heart failure. He was only 46 and had been suffering in those later years due to his size. He was the first entrant into WWE’s Hall of Fame and there’s recently been a WrestleMania Battle Royal added to each year’s largest event in his honor. The winner takes home a gold statue, though no beer is included in the prize.

“There are a lot of crazy stories about Andre that sound fake but most are true, especially his drinking,” said Brisco.

And here, this generation thought Steve Austin or Ric Flair could drink. Sounds like nobody could top WWE’s first Giant.
