This is a hard one to a bit hard predict, as I think all the championship matches look quite solid. Still, I’m going with two competitors who have a solid reputation for always putting on a grand show, and who (some thought) should’ve main evented Wrestlemania: Charlotte versus Sasha Banks, for the WWE Women’s Championship. I know these women have already had a match, and a triple threat match, but they have proven they can tear the house down in
the past, whether that be on RAW or a pay-per-view, and I think they will do it again, come SummerSlam.
Wow, this is a tough one. I was certainly dead set against the extra belt, but seeing the two matches we are getting? Either one should be excellent. Balor and Rollins? Yes, please. Ziggler and Ambrose? Thank you sir! No disrespect to the women, who I think will yet again have a stellar match, of course. But I am going to go out on a limb and say that I think, for me, the best title match is going to come from Ziggler and Ambrose. It’s the biggest stage of Dean’s title reign thus far, and it’s Ziggler’s chance to redeem himself. I think these guys both have chips on their shoulders, seeing as in one case, he was on track to be the guy and then was ignored, and the other watched as both of his stablemates got major gold before he did. This is their time to shine, and shine they shall.
Though, if I were talking about the entire weekend? Then I’d say that Nakamura and Joe might be the best of the weekend. Really and truly this could be an exceptional weekend for us fans.
Finn Balor vs. Seth Rollins is a match Indy fans would love and they will probably steal the show at SummerSlam. While Rollins seems like the easy favorite, WWE is clearly supporting Balor. In a matter of a week, Balor was drafted in the Top 5 and won two matches on RAW (including a clean pin over Roman Reigns) to became the No. 1 contender. We’ve seen Rollins have great matches with John Cena and their in-ring styles are completely different. Balor is just like Rollins in the ring, so they should mesh well. Plus, not too many people have seen Rollins vs. Balor. I’m going with Rollins to win because Balor just arrived on the main roster and there’s plenty of time to build him up as a future champion. And while Rollins technically lost his title, it was due to Money in the Bank. Rollins’ original run as WWE Champion abruptly ended due to injury and after such a successful first reign, he’s earned another stint with the gold. Balor or Rollins as champion is good enough for me. The fans love both wrestlers and their skills inside the ring are why they might be the future of the New Era.
