Ask WNZ: More Excited For TakeOver Or ‘Mania?

Simple question, really. We have two big shows this weekend: Friday’s NXT TakeOver, and Sunday’s WrestleMania. Which of the two are you most excited for?

Dorathy Gass:

I’m more excited about Wrestlemania. NXT is better than the main roster programming (and pay-per-views) in so many ways sometimes, and the TakeOver card is solid. However, Takeover happens about four times a year, and Wrestlemania is the big even we all wait for. It is the Super Bowl of pro wrestling; and Wrestlemania will always be Wrestlemania. Sure, it’s been a hard year for WWE’s flagship event, with all the injuries, and many key players not being able to participate in the grand event. In a lot of ways the build up to the two biggest matches (Taker versus Shane/HHH versus Roman Reigns) has been anti-climactic. Still, could be the years of Wrestlemanias under my belt, but I just can’t wait to see how everything unfolds, and see the surprises that may unfold as well.

John Deegan:

Honestly? NXT, I do believe. It’s not a knock on WrestleMania’s card, at least not for me. I am still looking forward to that show too. But, for me, this is my first live TakeOver (yes, I know, I am slow to the party). So perhaps just that one fact alone makes me look forward to one versus the other. Or rather, looking forward to one more than the other.

I think NXT is going to give us, start to finish, the better overall wrestling show. WrestleMania, start to finish, will give us the better overall spectacle. Matches like Lesnar/Ambrose and McMahon/Undertaker? I don’t think anyone will ever end up saying how those were great wrestling matches. I think those will be all-out brawls, which is fine.

So, really I am looking forward to both. NXT will have wrestling that we won’t get much of, or, as much of, on WrestleMania. But ‘Mania has The Rock, The Undertaker, Hell In A Cell and whatever other surprises WWE has in store for us.

Try as we might want, this time, for these shows? It’s comparing apples to oranges.

 Joseph Lisnow:

Tough question because this doesn’t feel like the greatest WrestleMania or Takeover event. Looking at the WrestleMania 32 card, it’s too large. Brock Lesnar – Dean Ambrose, Triple H – Roman Reigns, Shane McMahon – Undertaker, and IC Ladder Match will each get 20 minute matches. That means the rest of the card is going to be rushed. WWE wants to add the entire roster to WrestleMania, though in doing so they over fill it. Those who worked hard should be the ones who compete at WrestleMania. While it might not be the best Takeover card, their specials have consistently delivered. I think NXT will continue this trend of “taking over” the wrestling business moving forward and topping WrestleMania.

Im excited for NXT Arrival as a show/card but I’m excited for Wrestlemania weekend and the spectacle that comes with it (not so much the card though).

It’s like the Super Bowl. Even if the game has two teams you hate or two teams that would make a boring matchup, it’s still the Super Bowl and you can’t help getting pumped for the spectacle of it.

Also you almost got me WNZ. I was so tempted to click on the one about the hot moms. ??
