Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, without a doubt. The video package on Monday Night RAW building up this feud was stellar, and these two have probably been itching to get into the ring on the main roster (one-on-one), and show the WWE Universe just what they can do, together. I’m pretty confident it will be the one everyone’s talking about Monday morning.
Owens and Zayn would be the easy and obvious choice, and I won’t be surprised if it’s true. But I am looking at two matches that should do as well as, if not better than, Zayn and Owens.
First up? I think the tag match between Enzo and Cass and The Vaudevillains has a chance to blow people away. Fact is, WWE has too often neglected the tag team division, which is a shame considering it’s rich history. That being said, we have two top young teams, each of whom has enjoyed great success in NXT. So, within a month of their main roster debuts, these two teams are challenging one another on a WWE PPV, to determine which team gets to battle for the tag team championship. So yes, I fully think this match could steal the show.
As for my other? Believe it or not, Natalya versus Charlotte. Now, the match itself should be good, as these two have worked some nice matches. But if this is going to get a lot of talking done about it, I fully expect something cool to go down between Ric and Bret.
Either Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn or Dean Ambrose vs. Chris Jericho will leave fans wanting more. I’m going with Sami–Owens because we’ve waited longer for this match; despite WWE teasing Ambrose-Jericho back in October. The matches between Owens and Zayn on the Indy scene were legendary and on the hardcore side. Their few NXT bouts were good, though more one-sided for Owens in my opinion. If these two had a stipulation added, then this would easily top the three hours. WWE will save the gimmick part for Extreme Rules. This should be a stiff bout and good way to get a hot opening.
