Ask WNZ: Wyatt Family Compound From RAW

Xavier Woods
Here’s another one getting right to the point. If you’ve seen RAW-and hopefully you have, if you have not, stop reading now!!!-what did you think about the Wyatt/New Day vignette from that show?

Dorathy Gass:

When the WWE was promoting the vignette on RAW, prior to presenting it, I was skeptical. Everything Bray Wyatt does in terms of vignettes and promos is always gold, but still, a fight … and on the Wyatt compound? Seemed a tad cheesy and unbelievable to me. I’ll admit, at first I thought they were walking a fine line on both these points, but once the video went into full swing: I was impressed. The vignette itself was creepy, the fighting was brutal, and the way it was presented: I thought I was about to watch a horror flick. All in all, it was well done – and painted a picture of what is to be expected if these six men entered the ring together. The focus on Bray versus Xavier Woods was really interesting; especially how Wyatt fought to keep him down – yet, Xavier kept coming back. All in all, the vignette was presented well, and I’m not 100% sure who directs and produces Wyatt’s promo stuff for the WWE, but whoever it is, they seem to truly understand the Wyatt Family characters and how they should be presented.

John Deegan:

It was dark, it was ominous, it was just the right amount of freaky. Some moves looked a wee bit too staged or rehearsed, which clearly they were since it was a taped vignette, but that’s forgivable.

Beyond that? It was welcomed. WWE has seemingly lost track of what to do with Bray and his crew over the last year or so, unfortunately. When this feud started, I was hoping that, somehow, someway, New Day would live to fight another day, to keep the tag team titles still. But after that? I know it might seem crazy, but the vignette sure gave me a feeling like those titles are in very real jeopardy.

But in the end, maybe that is best for business. Wyatt has been derailed for too long, and he has the potential to be the alpha heel in WWE, but he’s consistently missed out on that spot. Just when we think he’s going there again, as in when he and the family decimated Undertaker in Brooklyn last year, the momentum quickly faded.

Here’s hoping that, if WWE decides to take the belts off New Day and place them on Bray and whomever, that they use the opportunity to really elevate him.

For me the most interesting thing was right at the start when we got a glimpse of Sister Abigail

That was on the same level of retardness as that TNA video of Matt and Jeff Hardy in their farm or whatever that place was with that boat n stuff. Perhaps the lamest vignette in DubDubE history.

Did you not watch the food fight?

If they would have did it found footage style like one of the nameless wyatts in a sheep mask holding the camera instead and played omnious music during the replays it would have topped The Deletion

Funny was no Luke Harper to be found. Had he led the “fireflies” at the end it would’ve been awesome

Sister Abigail and Bray Wyatt getting drafted to different shows.
