At this point, I’d say Roman should turn heel; even if Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows attacked Reigns and The Usos because AJ Styles told them too, or even if  Styles knew about it. If WWE’s idea is to try and turn Styles, to help get Reigns’ over, I think they are making a huge mistake. If they really want Reigns over with the crowd, then the time is now to turn him heel. His character, and fan reaction is spiraling too much. I thought WWE was in denial about this, but on RAW, I noticed JBL was siding with Reigns. Now, as a heel announcer, JBL does flip flop a lot, so I took it with a grain of salt; but I couldn’t help but wonder if this was a tease of what is to come
Maybe I am being thick, but heading into Payback, I just don’t know how WWE could make fans hate AJ Styles. I just don’t think they will. And, especially when you are sending him into a match against Reigns, a guy fans love to hate. Seriously, I don’t know what WWE would need to do in order to have Reigns suddenly win fans over, or to have them turn on AJ-someone they’ve loved since he debuted.
Even if there is interference from the remnants of Bullet Club-something that’s assumed now, given what’s transpired of late, I don’t see a vast majority of fans suddenly sympathizing with Reigns and turning on AJ. It’s possible. I could be wrong. But I just don’t see it. Fans love AJ because they picked him. They dislike Reigns because he’s been forced upon folks. Fans, especially this generation of fans, don’t forget things like that. Reigns may have to embrace the dark side to even have a chance.
