1. Sami Zayn. I really and truly thought he was going to find a way to win the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania, but it wasn’t meant to be. His future certainly looks bright in WWE, so I would not be terribly shocked to see him, sooner than later, wearing gold.
2. Apollo Crews. Yes, I know he just came up, and yes he’s a babyface where we already have a few of those holding titles-Kalisto, New Day and, to some extent or other, Roman Reigns. So, unless they turn him heel, I don’t see this one happening right away. But I could see him in the US title mix by the end of the year. I can’t put my finger on it, but he just has that “it” factor when I’ve seen him.
3. Enzo and Big Cass. Again, another new addition to the main roster. The more I think about how these guys act in the ring (and I admit, I’ve only been watching them a few months), the more impressed I am. Cass makes Amore look tiny, but neither man is diminutive. And the mic skills? And how they have the crowd just going right along with it? I was thinking of what team they reminded me of, especially when they showed off their brass balls by talking down to the Dudleys. And that team is the New Age Outlaws. No, I am not crazy, nor have I taken a chair shot recently. But the Outlaws talked a big game and, for the most part, backed it up. Their style, their bravado? Hard to not be impressed by it.
Will Enzo and Cass be on that level? Maybe. Skeptics will say no chance, but I have a feeling they could be nearly as good.
