WWE Survivor Series 2013 LIVE Play-by-Play (24/11/2013)

The “Kickoff” begins with shots of the fans inside TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts – home of this year’s edition of Survivor Series.

Josh Matthews introduces the panel – Mick Foley, Booker T and Bret Hart.

Hart is looking forward to the WWE Championship match, while Foley is excited for the World Heavyweight Championship. Booker T is looking forward to the 5-on-5 traditional Survivor Series match.

The panel starts to dissect Kofi Kingston versus The Miz, and the wrestlers agree Miz has an upper advantage going into this match. We see highlights from Raw involving Alberto Del Rio and John Cena.

We go backstage to a promo involving The Usos and The Rhodes Brothers, with Rey Mysterio crediting their fathers as legends who had an impact on Survivor Series. CM Punk and Daniel Bryan join Renee Young for an interview. Bryan says they too can be ruthless like their opponents. Punk tells Bray Wyatt to be wary of their threats.

We go ringside to Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and JBL, who prep us for our first contest.

Kofi Kingston vs. The Miz

Kofi is out first, followed by The Miz – who brings back the trench coat. The Miz extends his hand before the match, and Kofi accepts. They lock horns, and Miz gets the first knockdown. They each get a two count on each other’s roll-ups. They have a back and forth series of reversals and pins, with the crowd cheering. The Miz goes for the Figure Four, but Kofi is able to throw him off.

He throws Miz outside of the ring and dives through the second rope, nailing his opponent. Back from commercial break, Kofi springs onto The Miz in the corner and he is thrown off and kicked in the head. Miz drags him back to the center and gets a two count. Miz working a sleeperhold and Kofi gets back to his feet. Miz throws him to the ropes and Kofi reverses – dropkicking Miz in the face.

Kofi hits Miz with two consecutive dropkicks, followed by The Boom Drop. Kofi signals Trouble In Paradise, and Miz ducks underneath it but gets caught in the S.O.S. Two count for Kofi. Miz catches Kofi in mid-air, clocks him against the ropes and tries to slap on the Figure Four but Kofi fights through it. Kofi beats on The Miz for a while until Miz looks to finish him off with The Skull Crushing Finale but Kofi rolls him up for the pin. Miz counters, and gets the three count.

Miz extends his hand to Kofi after the match, and gets slapped across the face.

The panel talk about the main event minutes before the pay-per-view goes to air.

The pay-per-view commences with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon making their way to the ring. They instead stay on the entrance ramp, and guarantee that the main event match will not have any outside interference. Triple H announces that the traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series match will commence the action.

Cody Rhodes, Goldust, The Usos & Rey Mysterio vs. The Shield & The Real Americans

Rey Mysterio is out first, followed by The Usos. Goldust and Cody Rhodes come out to the loudest reaction. The Real Americans then make their way down to the ring, and Zeb Colter talks about the Boston Tea Party and that there are no revolutionaries amongst them. Colter then says the audience is too busy twerking and tweeting (and actually attempts a twerk). After Colter takes a shot at David Ortiz, Cody stops him from talking and twerks. The Shield enter from the crowd.

Cody starts to work on Dean Ambrose, who throws Cody in the corner and works the body. Cody fights back but takes a knee in the gut coming off the ropes. Ambrose starts to talk smack to the referee, and Cody gets a roll up on him – and gets the three count. Ambrose is eliminated.

The Real Americans and The Shield interfere, and The Usos clean house by throwing them out of the ring and hitting them with aerial maneuvers onto the outside.

Goldust and Cesaro find themselves as the legal men, with Swagger being tagged in. They hit Goldust with a double-elbow to the body. Cesaro and Swagger tagging each other often to dish out more pain. Swagger hits Goldust with a spinebuster. Swagger then hits Goldust with a Vader Bomb, and Cesaro jumps over him to stomp on Goldust.

Cesaro was hit with a DDT but he kept the pressure on Goldust, who starts to wake up and cleans out the opposite corner. Cesaro tags him Swagger, but Goldust countered his attack and tagged in Mysterio. Swagger catches Mysterio in mid air but Rey postures Swagger on the ropes and hits the 6-1-9. He tags the Usos, who hit Swagger with a huge splash off the top rope for the three count. Swagger has been eliminated.

Cesaro storms in and performs the Cesaro Swing on both Usos, one after another.

A dizzy Cesaro loses track of the Jey Uso, who tags in Cody and he eliminates Cesaro with a sunset flip, followed by a pin.

Jey Uso works on Roman Reigns, who clocks him with a clothesline and tags in Rollins. A few punches and a pin by Rollins, but he gets the two count. Rollins & Reigns work on Jey, with Rollins coming off the top rope to strike Jey in the face. Two count by Rollins. Jey counters a double reverse suplex, and tags in his brother who is dishing out clotheslines left and right.

Reigns finally controls Jimmy and follows him to the top rope. Jimmy throws him down but eats a knee on the way down. Reigns hits him with the spear, and eliminates him.

Cody and Rollins are the legal men, and Cody hits Rollins with the Cross Rhodes but Rollins tagged in Reigns, who hits Cody with the spear and eliminates him too. Jey Uso is then eliminated by Seth Rollins, who hits him with a vicious stomp to the back of the head. Mysterio joins Rollins in the ring, and starts to get a beating for his troubles before he kicks Rollins to the side of the head. Two count for Mysterio.

Rollins is able to steer away from Mysterio and tags in Reigns, who tosses Mysterio outside of the ring with ease. Mysterio beats the ten count, and moves out of Reigns’ spear. Rollins is tagged in and Mysterio catches him in a roll up for the three count. As soon as Rollins is eliminated, he attacks Mysterio. Reigns taunts Mysterio in the corner, and attempts a body slam but Mysterio fights it off and hits Reigns with a kick to the head. Mysterio tags in Goldust.

Goldust hits Reigns with ten punches while mounted in the corner, followed by a powerslam for the two count. Goldust goes to the top rope for a crossbody, and gets a one count. Goldust goes for a running bulldog and misses, getting speared for his troubles. Reigns pins Goldust. As soon as he turns around, Mysterio flies off the top rope and gets caught. He hits Reigns a few times, and sets him up for the 6-1-9. Reigns immediately shoots up and nails Rey with a spear for the three count.

The Authority, including Kane, are joined by Randy Orton who asks them if they are all on the same page. Triple H says he is confused – is Orton demanding that there is interference or not? Triple H says he is the five on five is up next.

Big E Langston vs. Curtis Axel (Intercontinental Championship)

 Axel comes out first, and is followed by the new champion – who gets a decent ovation.

Axel works a headlock, and gets belly-to-back suplexed. They lock up again, and Langston outmuscles Axel.

Langston spears Axel into the corner, and explodes with a flying clothesline. Two count for Big E. Langston follows Axel to the outside, and throws him back in but gets hit with a forearm on the apron. Axel tackles him to the outside. Axel hits him with a clothesline. Two count for Axel. More work to the body from Axel.

Axel works a sleeper and Langston begins to power out. Langston lifts Axel over his head and throws him in the air. Two clotheslines followed by a belly to belly suplex by Langston. Big E hits Axel with a splash. Axel holds onto the bottom rope and hits Langston in the knees. Axel hits Big E with the Perfectplex, but gets the two count. Axel goes for a neckbreaker but gets reversed, and Big E lands the Big Ending for the three count.

 Langston applauds the Boston Red Sox in his post-match interview, to gain some cheap pops from the crowd.

AJ Lee is in the back, speaking to the Divas who she just labeled inferior to her.

Kaitlyn speaks up, and AJ says it is not about them – it’s the fact that Total Divas do not want any of them on their program.

The Bella Twins, Natalya, The Funkadactyls, Jojo and Eva Marie vs. AJ Lee, Tamina, Aksana, Kaitlyn, Alicia Fox and Rosa Mendes

Naomi starts with Alicia Fox. Fox hits her with a backbreaker and gets the one count. Fox drags Naomi across the ring by her hair, and hits her with a headkick. Fox tries to hit Naomi off the top rope, but Naomi drills her to the mat and hits her with a moonsault for the three count. Fox is eliminated.

Rosa dives in but she is on the receiving end of a beatdown from Naomi and Cameron. Rosa eliminates Cameron, and shortly after, she taunts her team and Nikki Bella hits her with a clothesline for the pin.

Summer Rae comes in dancing and has a dance-off with Nikki, who dropkicks her in the face and eliminates her. Eva Marie is tagged in, but she gets eliminated by Kaitlyn after her modified F-5 finisher. Kaitlyn eliminates Naomi with the same move shortly after.

Brie Bella enters, and eliminates Kaitlyn with a missile dropkick. AJ taunts Brie Bella, who gets drilled by Aksana and gets eliminated. Nikki avenges her sister by eliminating Aksana with somewhat of a torture-rack slam.

Tamina enters and suplexes Nikki. Tamina throws Nikki to the corner, who hits Tamina with a dropkick. Jojo gets tagged in and goes face to face with Tamina. She gets thrown off Tamina easily in a lockup. Tamina slams Jojo down to the canvas. Jojo is able to climb to the top rope and surprise Tamina with a roll up but Tamina nails her with a Wykea and tags in AJ so she can pin Jojo.

AJ tags Tamina to take care of Natalya. Body slam by Tamina. Tamina went for her father’s finisher but missed, and Natalya eliminates her with a sharpshooter. Natalya then slaps on the Sharpshooter on AJ after Tamina tried to interfere and was dropkicked by Nikki Bella.

Orton confronts Charles Robinson and asks him to do the right thing and call it down the middle. Orton asks if Charles understands what he is trying to say, and Robinson says he will call it down the middle.

Matthews introduces the panel to the audience, and then Ryback’s music hits before he can ask them any questions.

Ryback comes out and says his favorite Survivor Series moment is when he shut up the old-timers on the panel – just now. Ryback issues an open challenge to anyone in the back. Mark Henry comes out.

Ryback vs. Mark Henry

Ryback starts to work on Henry in the corner. Ryback hits him with a clothesline and gets the two count.

Henry storms through and hits Ryback with a huge splash.

Ryback counters Henry’s powerslam and sends Henry in the corner. Ryback postures up in the opposite corner and gets hit by a crossbody from Henry.

Henry nails Ryback with the World’s Most Devastating Slam, and gets the three count.

Mark Henry defeats Ryback by pinfall

The panel preps us for our World Heavyweight Championship match.

John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio (World Heavyweight Championship)

Del Rio comes out first, followed by Cena – who gets a huge ovation at home.

The crowd begins the divided chants as they lock up. Cena working the headlock. Cena is not wearing his protective padding for the first time. Cena rag dolls Del Rio to the mat with a headlock. Hip toss by Del Rio, who now works the headlock.

Del Rio hits Cena with a dropkick, followed by a suplex. Two count by Del Rio, who works Cena’s left arm. Cena begins to lift Del Rio but the challenger clocks him with a clothesline. Another two count.

Del Rio hits Cena from the top rope. The champion rolls out of the ring. Del Rio follows, and whips Cena into the steel steps. Back in the ring, Del Rio hits Cena with another strike from the top rope. Del Rio goes after the left arm again, but Cena punches Del Rio off. Cena tries to follow him into the corner but Del Rio moves out of the way and dropkicks Cena’s arm.

Cena ducks a clothesline and hits him with two flying shoulder strikes but Del Rio smartly moves out of the way so Cena flies to the outside. Cena snaps Del Rio’s head on the top rope and gets a two count but Del Ro continuously finds a way to counter and targets the arm.

Five Knuckle Shuffle by Cena, followed by a reverse suplex. Cena can only get the two count. Del Rio hits Cena with an enziguri as the champion tried to make his way to the top rope. Cena is able to revive himself and hit Del Rio with a legdrop to the back of Del Rio’s head off the top rope. Del Rio surprises Cena with a backbreaker.

Del Rio goes for the Cross Arm Breaker but Cena reverses it into an STF. Del Rio gets a finger on the ropes.

Del Rio clocks Cena with a kick to the head, but only gets the two count. Neckbreaker by Cena, and a two count. Del Rio goes for the Cross Arm Breaker but Cena storms out. Del Rio tries again, but gets caught in The Attitude Adjustment.

John Cena defeats Alberto Del Rio by pinfall (retains World Heavyweight Championship)

Santino and R-Truth argue in the back, and play with the new Money In The Bank play set. Los Matadores and Fandango appear out of nowhere. Santino tells Fandango that is it not a dance party and John Laurinaitis shows up.

CM Punk & Daniel Bryan vs. Luke Harper & Erick Rowan

Rowan starts off with Bryan. Bryan ducks a few clotheslines and works on Rowan’s legs. Rowan corners Bryan and hits him in the chest. Headbutt by Rowan. Punk tags himself in and Rowan decks him with a few shots before tagging in Harper. Punk kicks Harper and hits him with a crossbody off the second rope – only to get a two count.

Harper sends Punk into his corner and tags in Rowan. Punk finds himself in a bear hug and breaks free. Bryan gets tagged in and they try to double-suplex Rowan but he counters. Rowan pummels Bryan in the corner.

Bryan is able to counter Rowan’s attacks and tags in Punk. They finally land the double-suplex but he finds his way back to his feet quickly and dishes out more punishment. Harper makes his way to the ring but he cannot hold Punk down, as he and Bryan hit their opponent with a double-dropkick.

Rowan distracts Punk, and Harper delivers a big boot to the face.

Quick tag and a backbreaker by Rowan, who gets a two count. Back in the ring, Harper lands a few uppercuts. Harper has Punk in a Gator Roll, but Punk breaks out of it. Punk tags in Bryan, who starts to clear house.

Bryan hits Harper with a dropkick off the top rope. Bryan gets in a hurricanrana on Harper. He tries to do it from the top rope, but Harper powerbombs him from the second rope. Punk interferes but Rowan throws him out of the ring.

Rowan gets tagged in and gets a two count after a splash. Rowan hits Bryan with three powerslams, and gets another two count. Harper gets tagged in and suplexes Bryan. Punk hits Harper from the apron, and the crowd cheers on Bryan to make the tag.

Punk comes in, and dives onto Bray Wyatt and Rowan on the outside. He hits Harper with an elbow drop off the top rope. Two count for Punk. Punk signals the GTS, but Rowan saves Harper. Bryan takes out Rowan with the flying knee and Punk catches Harper with the GTS after The Wyatt Family member missed a spinning clothesline.

Cena and Orton have a standoff in front of The Authority backstage. Orton asks what was Cena doing there, and storms out.

Randy Orton vs. Big Show (WWE Championship)

Orton runs outside of the ring to begin the match, and Show catches up to him in the ring. Orton runs out one more time but Show joins him and slaps him in the chest really hard. Show buries his foot into Orton’s throat. The fans start “Daniel Bryan” chants as Big Show continues to work on Orton.

Show slaps Orton in the chest one more time and gets dropkicked off the ropes. Orton kicks Show’s body repeatedly. Kneedrop from Orton and a two count for his troubles. Orton works the headlock. Show throws him overhead but Orton hangs on for a sleeperhold with his legs wrapped around Show’s body. The crowd chants “boring.”

Show regains composure and climbs the top rope. Orton stops him, and kicks him repeatedly until he DDT’s him after Show botched the move.

Orton goes for the RKO, but Show counters and hits Randy with a Chokeslam. Two count for Big Show. Orton throws Show into the referee, who is hurt. Show throws Orton over the barricade and slaps him in the chest. Show lands the Knockout Punch to Orton on the outside.

Triple H’s music hits, and The Authority come out. Show’s attention turns to them, and he gets an RKO by Orton. Orton kicks Show with a punt to the skull, and retains the championship with The Authority clapping as they make their way down the ramp.

Randy Orton defeats Big Show by pinfall (retains WWE Championship)

Cena’s music hits and he comes to the ring. Cena raises his title in the air. Orton does the same. They circulate around each other, proving they are the faces of the company.
