Dave Meltzer said there is an offer in earnest from the WWE but it only stands so long as no one else purchases TNA. It is also an offer that has been collecting dust and is nothing newsworthy. WWE’s primary interest in TNA is their tape library for helping to promote their own new stars like AJ Styles and Samoa Joe.
TNA President, Billy Corgan, has invested more money for a 30% share than WWE would be willing to pay for whole company.
It is true, however, that Billy Corgan and an unnamed party are working on a deal to buy TNA. Non-disclosure agreements prevent the second party from being identified at this time. Though it can be confirmed that it is not Aroluxe, who also has share in the company along with Dixie Carter and Corgan. Aroluxe had until September 1st to get a deal done and nothing ever came to fruition.
Corgan hopes to complete the purchase, along with his mystery partners, so that he owns TNA by Bound For Glory on October 2nd.
