JR Comments on TNA, Update on a Potential Buyer, Turning Point

– Jim Ross tweeted the following about last night’s TNA Impact Wrestling:

“Yep..checking out @SpikeTV…enjoy @OfficialTAZ & @MikeTenayTNA work. They do great w/ what’s on their monitor. #wrestlingfan”

– TNA’s next Impact Wrestling special will be Turning Point on November 21st.

– Regarding TNA being for sale, Prowrestling.net is now reporting that there is indeed a person who has serious interest in TNA. This person is described as someone fans would know and someone that may surprise us. The party who is interested in buying TNA reportedly has money behind them and was described as intelligent. TNA doesn’t necessarily have a “for sale” sign up but they are listening to this potential buyer and others. There are also rumors that a major celebrity may be interested in purchasing TNA.

Morgan Freeman has bought TNA and will be announcing all matches.
BOOM. Instant quality product again, sales through the roof, viable competition for WWE, etc.

I would watch episodes on repeat.

The only intelligent, wealthy, familiar person I want to see buy TNA is Shane McMahon. He knows the business and could bring in others, such as JR, who have a ton of experience in the business. Between the two of them, they should be able to lure in top talents and identify young talents to build a product that’s not just profitable, but competitive with WWE. Considering the issues he’s had with Vince in the past, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Heyman jump ship when his contract us up. With the financial backing of Shane, the talent scouting abilities of JR and Heyman, and a creative department headed by Heyman as well, it could be a legitimate competitor to WWE at the level of WCW in its prime.
