John Pollock of The Fight Network broke the news earlier today that Jeff Jarrett will be taking a personal leave of absence from GFW. He will no longer be carrying out his duties as Chief Creative Officer for the foreseeable future.
Here was the tweet that broke it:
BREAKING – Jeff Jarrett is taking an indefinite leave of absence from his role as chief creative officer at GFW due to "personal reasons"
— John Pollock (@iamjohnpollock) September 5, 2017
Global Force Wrestling released the following statement regarding the matter:
“Effective immediately, Jeff Jarrett is taking an indefinite leave of absence from his position as Chief Creative Officer to focus on personal matters. Jeff will be available on a consultative basis as needed.”
PWInsider reports that the decision for Jarrett to take time off was made literally just a few hours prior to the official announcement. There is no word on who will be taking over the position in his stead.
There were apparently plans to have Jarrett wrestle Alberto el Patron at Bound For Glory this November. That, too, is likely off the table.
