Predictions, Analysis and Notes for WWE’s The Bash Pay-Per-View, Live Tonight

- Tonight WWE will present the Great American, errrr, The Bash. The name change is dumb but we’ve got a few pretty exciting matches on tonight’s card. Here are my picks with some analysis:

Triple H vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Title in a 3 Stages of Hell Match
- This one should be an alright match. Obviously we’re going with all three stages here and Orton will probably send Triple H out on the stretcher, at least I hope. It’s too soon for another WWE Title switch but that doesn’t mean WWE won’t do another. Hopefully we get some kind of swerve here. I’d like this to be the end to Triple H and Randy Orton for now but knowing WWE, it won’t be the end. I’m going with Orton as the winner.

Jeff Hardy vs. CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Title
- This will be a good one. I’m going with Punk as the winner. I guess a lot of things here depend on whether or not Hardy is leaving. I’d like to see a CM Punk heel turn here and they have been teasing it a lot lately but it may be too soon. Either way, this should be an awesome match.

ECW Championship Scramble Match
- This is a hard one to call. I see how on a few occasions Tommy Dreamer has barely got a reaction as ECW Champion and that could play a factor. Maybe they just the belt on Dreamer to have a way of keeping him around and have it make sense in the storyline. We’ve got Finlay, Swagger, Christian and Mark Henry all competing for the belt here. I’m not a big fan of the Scramble concept but hopefully it will be entertaining. My pick? Dreamer retains, I guess.

Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio in a Mask vs. Title Match
- I could watch Jericho and Mysterio wrestle every week and I don’t think it would ever get old. It’s hard to believe that WWE will remove Rey’s mask considering how much money they make off the merchandise sales, plus we all remember how it worked out for WCW. I’m going to go with some kind of screwy finish here but another awesome match between these two. I guess Mysterio will be the winner, if there even is one.

The Colons vs. Legacy for the WWE Unified Tag Team Titles
- I actually like Primo and Carlito as the Champions but I realize that WWE needs to do something with Ted and Cody fast, so we will have to take them more serious. Cody always seems like he’s just watching Randy Orton to see what he is going to do next and Ted, well, Ted is improving. I’m calling new WWE Unified Tag Team Champions tonight and a new chapter in the Legacy storyline. Let’s just hope that Ted and Cody don’t tag each other in 1,000 times during the match. I hate that.

Michelle McCool vs. Melina for the WWE Women’s Title
- Say what you want about Michelle McCool, I don’t think she’s all that bad really. But let’s face it, neither Maryse or Melina have done much with WWE’s titles for the ladies lately so we will probably get a title change here tonight. Your new WWE Women’s Champion, Michelle McTaker.

Dolph Ziggler vs. The Great Khali with No DQ’s and No Countouts
- Wow. I can think of atleast 10 other Superstars off the top of my head I’d rather see work a match on pay-per-view tonight besides these two guys. So this is the payoff of all their matches as of late? I guess this is the start of Dolph’s push or something. I’m going with Dolph as the winner. Hell actually, this one has some potential to be at least a bit entertaining.

John Cena vs. The Miz
- A match I am not looking forward to tonight. I hate The Miz and his wanna-be promos but I hate John Cena way more. It’s a shame they’ve spent weeks building The Miz up only to have him get squashed by Cena on pay-per-view. I just don’t see them having enough faith in Miz already to put him over Cena on a show like this. So I’m going with Cena as the winner. Let’s just all hope that Big Show doesn’t come down and shit on this match, but he probably will. The sooner Big Show and Cena are done feuding, the better it will be for all us fans.
