The Bash Thoughts: Scary Cena-Miz, McTaker Props, MOTY?, More; Your Thoughts Wanted

- Going into last night’s The Bash pay-per-view I actually thought we might get a good show. I even talked a friend into buying the show. Needless to say it was another lackluster attempt by WWE. Here are some random thoughts on the matches…

* Randy Orton vs. Triple H
Really now, when is this feud going to end? I was just arguing with someone the other day about these two. A friend of mine tried to tell me HHH/Orton could easily put on an entertaining 60 minute Iron Match like Bret and HBK did years ago. I’m almost certain that they can not even come close. These two are a bore together, they both seemed dead tired after the first fall and the way the second fall was decided was ignorant. The whole stretcher match was crap as was the ending. End. This. Feud. Now. Please.

* CM Punk vs. Jeff Hardy
Another huge disappointment. I was looking forward to this match here and it never seemed to click at all. Not to mention the stupid finish and then the restart and Punk’s DQ. Just dumb.

* The Miz vs. John Cena
This just made me despise John Cena more and WWE. Really though we can’t hate Cena as much as WWE because he just does what they tell him, but still. They pushed Miz as a some-what credible heel over the past few months for this. FOR THIS? Pure crap, some of the worst I’ve seen lately.

* Melina vs. Michelle McCool
It is what it is, a Divas match. I hate how everyone rags on Michelle McCool because of her relationship with The Undertaker, saying she gets her pushes because of who she’s sleeping with. What makes Michelle less deserving than any other Diva on the roster? Exactly. I actually think Michelle is one of the more harder working Divas and it shows. Props to McCool.

* WWE Unified Tag Titles match
Good stuff here. I marked out just because it was something exciting in the middle of another snorefest. Edge and Jericho bring credibility back to the tag titles and hopefully we see a lot of these two guys on RAW to make things interesting. One thing I hate though – tag matches these days. Tag teams these days are just a different breed than what they used to. Why do we need 500 tags in one match?

* Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Jericho
These two never get old. Classic WCW memories here. I could really watch Jericho and Rey wrestle every week and not get tired of it. Props to these two for making The Bash watchable and for really carrying the pay-per-view. Match of the Year candidate.

* Dolph Ziggler vs. The Great Khali
Believe it or not, I was looking forward to this one. I figured Dolph’s push would begin with a nasty chairshot massacre on Khali but instead we got Kane. Yea I popped when Kane came out but do we really have to sit through more Khali/Kane snorefests? On the other hand, Dolph is starting to grow on me. The kid can wrestle obviously, I’m just not digging that name too much.

* ECW Championship Scramble
Not a bad match here, a good opener. Everyone worked hard but I’m not thrilled to see Dreamer as a Champion. I am an ECW original mark but Dreamer doesn’t do it for me anymore. And these damn Scramble matches. I can’t stand the rules or the concept. Hopefully this is the last Scramble we see for a while.
