Gabe Sapolsky Opens Up

Three months after his dismissal from Ring of Honor, Gabe Sapolsky opens up his head, his mouth, and his ROH booking binder for the cameras in the DVD release of “Gabe’s Book of ROH Secrets,” available today. And there’s lots to talk about.

Sapolsky booked ROH to prominence for over six years before his October firing. He’s remained relatively silent about things until now, where he speaks freely and makes some admissions that may surprise. The majority of the DVD examines Gabe’s booking style, formulas, and literally picks apart his booking binder, looking forward card by card, angle by angle, to the year’s conclusion. Then Sapolsky takes us into 2009.

Kayfabe Commentaries co-owner Sean Oliver acknowledges Gabe’s love/hate relationship with wrestling fans. “I know people give him heat,” Oliver says. “It seems anything he says is cause for debate. Our trailer has a two second clip wherein he says ‘people don’t buy ROH dvds for angles’ and I have seen that debated for two full weeks on several message boards. People fall on both sides of it, but ROH fans are just that passionate. This is an important disc for them in terms of closing a big chapter in the company’s history.”
