- Former TNA wrestler Johnny Devine confirmed reports that he asked for his release from TNA on his MySpace page. “Yes, I asked for a release from TNA,” he wrote. “Yes, it has been granted to me. I had until Oct. 22, 2009 on my contract remaining. Why you ask? Well, that’s a long answer with a number of reasons. All of which are personal and need not be thrown out there. For now I will simply say that I made myself a promise early on in my career. That was: when it’s o longer fun to wrestle it’s time to go. And it was no longer fun for me at TNA.” Devine also stated that he was frustrated with how little he was allowed to do in the ring, and noted that he is going to take a broadcasting and television production course.
- TNA will not be broadcasting their pay-per-view events in HD, even though iMPACT will start airing in HD on October 23rd. TNA does have a plan for pay-per-views to eventually make the change, but not right now.
