Backstage News on Punk’s Heel Turn & Orton Turning, More on Austin’s Future

- Two people close to Steve Austin say that he has no great desire to do another match and that he was comfortable when he left. Austin won’t do another match unless he can perform at the level he was at because he doesn’t want to short-cut his way through or work an old man style match.

- It’s said that CM Punk was happy to go heel. The story is that Punk realized he was never going to surpass John Cena as the #1 babyface but the #1 heel slot has been wide open.

On a related note, Randy Orton has made it clear he wants to be a heel and can perform as a top heel. The problem with that is WWE won’t turn him until they are fully confident in Sheamus drawing as the top babyface on the SmackDown side.

Also, I’d be surprised if Austin wasn’t at Wrestlemania anyway as he seems to turn up every 2 years at Wrestlemania since 2005.

Ha! Sheamus cant draw! that WM match with Bryan did damage to his career. Anyway Orton will go heel and Sheamus will still not draw high numbers.

Please please please move Punk and Orton heel, they are both so much better at being evil. And honestly there is a lot of young guys who have benn heel for a long time they really could work as a face.

Of course number 1 is The Miz, people hae been saying he needs a face turn for about a year now. He has the mic skills for it and it just is about time. Also Dolph Ziggler would be a great face, especially if the rumors are true about pairing him with Ric Flair. Another 2 guys who would could do great things with a face turn are Jack Swagger and Drew McIntyre.

Really…they wont turn Orton until they are confident Sheamus will draw well as the top face…HOW is Sheamus supposed to draw as the top face if they keep Orton face as well! Heel Orton would be much better anyway! Just turn him and see where the cards land and go from there!

Well, Punk should know that majority of fans liked him better than Cena when he was a face. I think the real issue is, Punk can’t be nice and has a short temper. He gets off on fans who wants his autographs and all while John Cena misses flights because he signs autographs for EVERYONE who asks him.

Mindy, that’s bullshit and you know it. If you ever actually listened to the promo he made a year ago and all his interviews. He has no problem signing autographs that aren’t being shoved in his face in 5:00am at the airport, or some fat stalker giving him abuse when he’s trying to relax and listen to his music. He’s not obligated to sign your stupid shit if you’re an asshole.
