Bret Hart Grades Taker vs. HHH, Continues to Knock HHH and More

Arda Ocal (@arda_ocal) of The Score Television Network, Baltimore Sun and Layfield Report spoke with former WWE Superstar Bret “HItman” Hart (@BretHart) AFTER his comments about Triple H made news.

In the interview, Ocal asks what he makes of these comments gaining a large amount of attention. Hart stands his ground, even goes further with his stance:

- Gives Triple H vs Undertaker a grade: “I said I’d give (Taker vs HHH at WrestleMania 28) a 4-out-of-10. I think that was generous.” and goes on to explain why

- “I wouldn’t put him in the top 1000 great wrestlers. To me he was very mediocre.”

- Questioning Triple H’s originality and contributions to pro wrestling

Also in the interview:

- comments on his appearance at the Montreal Screwjob panel at the Royal Rumble and if he’s sick of telling that story. “Sometimes in talking about it you get a new perspective on it.”

- says it doesn’t bother him that Shawn doesn’t really remember the incident. “It doesn’t surprise me. Shawn had his problems back then.”

- Having high praise for Alberto Del Rio and accepting his new nickname the “Canadian Del Rio”

Bret you are a legend in my eyes. But just because of some of Triple H’s actions may have been unneeded those are very irrational statements. Triple H is definitely top 1000. He is known for being one of the greatest story tellers and one of the greatest heels in the last 20 years.

This is mainly sour grapes, and he has every right to be bitter seeing as how HHH may have been the driving force behind the screwjob. I’m not big on HHH but 1,000 wrestlers is a lot of wrestlers.

In the ring he’s nothing special. He’s a good worker and had good matches, but he’s no Angle/Bryan/Benoit/etc.

Call me whatever you will, but he would not have been as big without Stephanie, and before that, he wouldn’t have even been in the company if not for HBK. I’m not saying he wouldn’t of been a main event player, but c’mon, he won what, 4 of 6 Chamber matches? He doesn’t win all of those belts without his wife.

Definitely a good performer, but I don’t buy the hype that everyone else gives him. And his match with Taker was so boring.

Bret Hart is a legend and one of the greatest of all time but he is bitter now.

I mean why does he continue to talk about The Screwjob? That sh*t happened 15 years ago and that’s all he talks about. The new generation of WWE fans knows who he is because of the screwjob and not exactly because of his wrestling career. Let it go Bret, let it go.

And HHH isn’t in his top 1000 great wrestlers? Is Bret Hart on drugs? Really Bret? I bet Bret thinks he’s on top of that 1000 list.

Triple H is not a great wrestler but he’s above average. Triple H never had a 5 star match but he’s never had a bad match either.

Triple H has worked to get where he is. I don’t think Marrying Sephanie is what made him World Campion, as he was before they even dated. I think Vince would be harder on Triple H then most wrestlers.
