Report on Goldust’s WWE Future on the ECW Brand, Matt Hardy Upset with Writer

Partial source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

- Matt Hardy posted thoughts on his Twitter account concerning an Internet wrestling writer for assuming that he spoiled his move to SmackDown on said account. The Internet writer in question did a post saying Hardy “spilled the beans” after saying he was pleased with being moved to SmackDown on Monday night. However, the information had been on WWE.com for an hour or so when Hardy posted the tweet message.

Hardy wrote: “I love how a guy who considers himself a top-notch wrestling journalist claimed I “spilled the beans” by posting I was traded to Smackdown when it had been up on WWE.com for almost an hour. He suggested maybe I “had permission” to post that, while it was already public info and all over the internet already. He’s quite an arrogant goof when it comes to matters like this. He’s constantly wrong in his reviews and regularly incorrect on matters. But my biggest complaint is that often insults talent, matches, or ideas just to seem “cool.” If you want to be looked at as a serious journalist, have your facts straight & remain professional by not insulting who keeps you in business. Not that my opinion is important, but that’s my opinion. I absolutely LOVE the true fans of the business, especially the positive ones who unconditionally respect all the pain, injuries, & sacrifices that ALL pro wrestlers go through to keep this wonderful business alive.”

- After a solid run of television appearances due to his partnership with Hornswoggle, Goldust’s status remains in question once again following his move to ECW this past week. In the eyes of officials, he’s been on the bubble ever since his return to the company this past November, and only after he started teaming up with Hornswoggle did he start regularly appearing on television again. Prior, he had only made a handful of appearances since his return.

Given the lack of depth on ECW, he should at least be given time to sink or swim. WWE officials and his co-workers have taken notice to the fact that he’s gotten in better shape this year. As far as we know from the ECW tapings earlier this week, Goldust doesn’t appear on next week’s show.
