- There was indeed talk over the past few months of having former WWE Champion “Stone Cold” Steve Austin to wrestle a match at next year’s WrestleMania 25 pay-per-view from Houston, TX. There has also been unofficial rumblings of having some of that weekend’s festivities centered around Austin, among other Texans.
The belief now is that the chances of Austin actually wrestling at WrestleMania next year is much slimmer than before because of the number of movie and TV projects he has been approached with lately. In order for WWE to really get a good build for an Austin match at WrestleMania, they would need to plant the seeds sometime around the Royal Rumble pay-per-view in January.
No word yet if Austin is seriously considering or has accepted any of these TV/film projects but that will probably decide what role he has at WrestleMania next year.
