- Dr. James Andrews made the suggestion to Mr. Kennedy to get the surgery on his torn right labrum, dislocated shoulder and rotator cuff damage to the shoulder. Kennedy apparently pulled out of a WWE appearance, saying that he was in need of surgery on the shoulder.

- As posted last week, Vince McMahon went on a rampage at the WWE TV tapings after SummerSlam. Vince was heavily critical of RAW and in an even worse mood the next day at the SmackDown/ECW tapings. Vince cussed out Bruce Prichard really bad at RAW that Monday and had everyone walking around on egg shells at both sets of tapings. People were talking about Vince turning 63 years old later that week and thought he wasn’t doing well with facing the reality of getting older.

Several segments for all shows didn’t go the way as planned because of timing issues and the shows were said to be overwritten. The scripts for SmackDown didn’t even come out until 7PM the night of the tapings. The disorganization reminded some people of working back for WCW in those days.
