Backstage News on Paul Heyman’s Status, WWE-Foley Update

– We’ve been covering how WWE will be filming one of Mick Foley’s upcoming comedy events in New York. Foley himself stated the special could end up on TV, Netflix or a similar outlet. Sources within WWE report that the special is being taped so WWE will have it on-hand for the Network when it launches.

– Plans last week called for the CM Punk vs. Paul Heyman feud to continue until December of this year but plans changed over the weekend and they ended the feud at Hell In a Cell. Heyman was backstage at Monday’s RAW but the impression was given that his alliance with Ryback is finished. We noted before that Ryback may be pulled from Heyman because of heat Ryback has from WWE officials. Heyman may not be back on WWE TV until Brock Lesnar returns.

It’s ashame Ryback is awful and not learning because Heyman was the exact thing he needed to help his push. If you’re put with Heyman and you can’t become a star then you never will on your own.

Ryback and Axel will never excel past mid-carders. The Axel project failed; Ryback appears to be so cocky that he feels he needs no help. When in reality, he is still so green. I feel WWE should stop aligning Heyman with people that they want pushed, bc it just doesnt work. Heyman Guys are picked by him, meaning he sees something in them. That is why RVD, Lesnar and Punk worked, bc Heyman knew they had that ‘it’ factor. Heyman probably never selected Ryback nor Axel, it was just WWE’s way of trying to push them by tagging them as Heyman Guys. it just doesnt work that way.

Ye you’re right even though I had high hopes for Ryback when he aligned with Heyman. He’s physically impressive, quite agile in the ring but he was no technique at all and he does seem cocky too like he doesn’t want to improve.

never had any expectations at all for ryberg, he’s just not that good and in my opinion they should have made him a monster heel from the get go, I said a long time ago he should have punished opponents for months then put them in an ambulance and have someone like a brad maddox drive them away, at least he might have had a better shot at sustaining some heat

    • Mrs. Ambrose

Ryback can become a star on his own. But it is the WWE’s fault for dropping the ball on him.

      • Chelsii?

Yeah, because not putting in the effort to be a star is totally not Rysh*t’s fault right?

        • Mrs. Ambrose

Ryback is making an effort to become a top star.

      • Rotnerd

        No lol

        • Mrs. Ambrose

Yeah the WWE did drop the ball on Ryback.

So when Brock comes back, Heyman is supposed to call out…. The Undertaker?

    • Lara_P1

if Lesnar vs Taker does indeed take place, it is an easy angle/feud to start. Heyman can say that his former best friend failed at defeating the streak but that if anyone is going to beat Taker at WM it’ll be a Paul Heyman Guy and that man is non other than the Beast, Brock Lesnar.

      • Maddox

Same thing I was thinking,Best way to start it

  • Chelsii?

Just glad that Ryback is finished, expect your pink slip by the end of the year.

    • Mrs. Ambrose

      Nope.

    • Mrs. Ambrose

      Ryback Rules!!!!

      • Chelsii?

        Go play with fire.

        • Mrs. Ambrose

          Nope.

          • Chelsii?

            I wish you would.

  • Devon

Ryback is a terrible wrestler and terrible on the mic

  • Jacob’s Verbal Fist

If they had any brains at all they would give Heyman a whole stable of heels, like the Heenan Family. But WWE creative has no brains, so I’m sure Paul will be sent home. Basically, all these changes ensure that I will not be watching WWE programming until January.

    • Maddox

Heyman staying off TV for now would be the best thing for him and his next feud

    • SdotC

Ever hear of the Dangerous Alliance? They wouldn’t need to replicate the Heenan Family lol, Paul already had a stable like that. Austin, Rick Rude, Arn Anderson, Madusa, and more, all lead by Paul E. Dangerously.

  • Ya Boy J Black

This is amazing because that means at Survivor Series were going to get somethin like Miz Punk and Bryan vs Orton and the Wyatt’s.

    • Lucas Amato

no Orton will go against Big Show.. more likely is Wyatt Familiy AND Kane vs Bryan, CM Punk, The Miz and X (R-truth, Kofi, DZ..)

  • Me

I missed the news that there was heat on Ryback.. What’s the story there?

    • Lara_P1

Basically it’s about how he carries himself in the back and during outside WWE appearances. People feel he walks around like he is more deserving of getting more opportunities than others and in his public appearances to promote WWE; he acts as if he is bothered to be out there in the public and gives off a bad company image in acting disrespectful.

      • Me

        Well, screw him.

  • Travis Rogers

Curtis Axel is bland and Cryback… I mean Ryback should just be a muscle to Axel like Langston was to Ziggler.
