Backstage News on Punk and Bryan’s New Feud, Survivor Series Plans, More

– WWE officials want the Survivor Series pay-per-view to feel like a big event once again.

Big Show vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Title or Show vs. Triple H in singles action will likely take place at this year’s event. At one point, Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H was being discussed for Survivor Series but that’s no more.

– Regarding the CM Punk and Daniel Bryan vs. The Wyatt Family feud that was set up on RAW last night, it’s described as not a burial of Bryan or Punk but Bryan is indeed out of the WWE Title picture, at least for now. The feud is being done to elevate Bray Wyatt and The Wyatt Family.

A four-on-four match is being planned for Survivor Series with The Wyatt Family and one other Superstar vs. Punk, Bryan and two other Superstars.

seeing punk and d-bry team together is great

    • IamLisa

      That sucks.

You’re a really bad troll, it stopped being funny a LONG time ago.

        A real long time ago.

        • Trey Doss

she’s the grumpy old troll that lives under the john cena bridge

          • jcice13

are you even sure “she’s” a woman???

          • Trey Doss

            šŸ˜® that’s cold

          • jcice13

I didn’t mean it to be cold all I meant was unless you really know the person how do you know who or what they are right? I never am disrespectful to any unless they attack me first but even then I let it go most of the time.

It sucks to see Bryan out of the WWE title picture but if it’s happening as they say it is, then let’s have Kane, Wyatt Family vs. Punk, Bryan and The Usos or PTP.

    • 1MC3

Kane & the Wyatt Family vs. Bryan, Punk, Ziggler, Miz.

      • D.M.T

Keep Miz out of it, he sucks

        • 1MC3

he doesn’t “suck” , they just haven’t used him correctly..he was on fire back when he was wwe champ. I added him in cause it’s the only logical guy to be in it , seeing that Kane chokeslammed him at HIAC and whatnot, and has the history with the Wyatts.

          • D.M.T

ThatĀ“s your opinion but in my opinion he sucks. Miz should have never won the WWE Championship. But it seems like that was his first and last reign with the WWE Title so IĀ“m ok with that

      • showoff

kane wyatt family vs Punk bryan miz and r truth with truth turning heel again finally

  • Eli Myers

I hope its Big Show vs Randy Orton for the WWE Title at Survivor Series with Triple H as Guest Referee. Then its should be Kane and the Wyatt Family vs Punk, Bryan, The Miz, and R-Truth in the 4 on 4 Elimination match.

    • Mario Peralta

Where do you get those names from?? Wyatts and Kane? No. Miz and Truth?? How and why?It makes no sence. Can you please explain this?

Not trying to come off as rude or attacking. I know alot of peopledo that when they disagree with stuff other people say. But if you can fill me in as to why those guys

      • Joseph Douglas

Miz was attacked by the Wyatt’s, as was Kofi. Not sure where he got R-Truth from though.

        • Mario Peralta

I actually forgot all about the attack on Miz, which is odd because it happened just last week.

  • Devon

NO NO NO!!! BRYAN HAD A 3 MINUTE AND A 1 DAY TITLE RUN!!! HE NEEDS THE BELT!!! WHY IS BIG SHOW GETTING A FUCKIN PUSH!!!

  • Chelsii?

So Daniel finally overcoming the odds from the ‘Authority’ and winning the title is never going to happen now? Thanks, ‘Creative’.

    • IamLisa

      Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
Keep moaning and bitching. It’s not gonna matter.

    • 1MC3

sorry but he just doesn’t have “it” ..

      • Trinot Grigio

And Big Show does? He’s one of the biggest flops in wrestling. If there was any competition out there WWE wouldn’t do this.

        • IamLisa

          Big Show > Bryan.

      • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aMVlNPjpbI The Devourer of Dimensions

Then you haven’t been watching WWE for the past year.

        • D.M.T

You canĀ“t tell him heĀ“s wrong because thatĀ“s his opinion. HeĀ“s not saying Bryan is bad, heĀ“s just saying Bryan is not top star material

          • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aMVlNPjpbI The Devourer of Dimensions

I didn’t say he was wrong, but to look at what DBry has done this year and underhand him isn’t fair. That’s all.

          • 1MC3

it’s my opinion like DMT said. I never said Bryan sucks. I think Bryan is probably the best wrestler right now, but image wise, he isn’t “the face” and will never be. He’s just what WWE isn’t “looking for”

          • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aMVlNPjpbI The Devourer of Dimensions

            Fair enough.

          • jcice13

where have I heard that before??? oh yeah from the authority

    • SdotC

It doesn’t need to happen -__-. You sound like an 8yo upset because you think he really lost or something lol. Answer me this: Is Bryan in a far better spot now than he was before Summerslam? Hell yes. So then what’s the problem? He won the WWE Title, something most never thought would happen, beat Cena clean, owned Orton every time they fought, and made a legend tap out one night after KO’ing HHH with one shot.

It was more important to keep the belt on Orton to keep the power with him and the bosses. Since it makes no sense to have the heel Orton chase a face Daniel Bryan in this situation, the only way to have Daniel walk out of HiaC as champ would have been as the blow-off, ending this heel stable before it really got going (at least Orton’s big push), and in terms of what has the most potential to draw money, ending that just to give Bryan the belt is NOT best for business. My one gripe though is that with this in mind, Triple H should never have gotten away with calling Bryan a B+ player on television, because knowing Triple H, he’ll weasel his way out of putting Bryan over.

But that doesn’t need to happen anyway. WWE makes CM Punk. People complain that he finally lost. WWE gives us Tyler Black and Jon Moxley, and we get to see them beat up people like Sheamus and Cena. WWE gives us all a chance to see Daniel Bryan at the top, and instead of being happy, you’re criticizing them and ruining it for yourself just because your guy didn’t win. That’s like someone surprising you with some awesome car you never thought you’d be able to own, then you turn around and say “you really didn’t get me the EX? Thanks for nothing, jerk”.

      • Chelsii?

None of that matters, this was clearly suppose to be Daniel’s big push to cement him as a legit top star as well as having a well deserved title run after the last 18 months of him working his ass off. But no, apparently that’s not good enough, if they don’t end this by giving Bryan the title for a good memorable run, it was a WASTE OF TIME. Orton has had so many title runs, screw him, Bryan deserves to come out on top of this angle.

So yes, it does NEED to happen.

        • SdotC

If it was clearly supposed to be Bryan’s big push, why wasn’t it? Why isn’t he champion right now? Obviously it was only “clearly supposed to be” such in your mind. The entire angle has served to get the heel faction over so that they can draw money. That’s the point of the wrestling business. If your argument is that Bryan deserves a long title run because he works hard, then that shows a fundamental error in your understanding of the product you so passionately criticize. 10 years ago where would that have gotten him in WWE? To the esteemed status of “hardest working jobber”. Now he’s a 3x champ with maybe 5+ years left in his run.The ultimate goal was never for Bryan to kill off this heel faction 3 months into the angle. And considering that the angle itself was about the face of the WWE and the WWE Title, conquering Orton would have done just that. No offense, but if you ran a promotion, it probably wouldn’t make money, because of that mentality. While I certainly don’t think that Triple H going into business for himself and burying the hell out of a great talent like Bryan on the mic every week was “best for business”, the ultimately goal was clearly for the title to end up back on Orton’s waist for the 11th time or whatever it may be, and in terms of what’s going to help the WWE the most in the future, I’m sorry, but dropping all this heat and drawing potential just so us Bryan fans can see him hold the title for 4-6 months is simply ludicrous. It does not NEED to happen, and if you can’t see that from what I just said, then you really don’t get how this business works. Bryan is MUCH BETTER OFF for having beaten Cena clean in the middle (being one of only two guys to do so in YEARS, the othe being THE ROCK) at a Big 4 PPV and then headlining the next 3, being central to the biggest angle of the year, winning the strap twice and physically owning Orton, Triple H AND Shawn Michaels in the months since that ridiculously-huge victory over Cena, and all of the other stuff he accomplished. The fact that he got screwed out of the title does not undo any of that stuff. In fact, it gives them a reason to bring him back into the title fold at the drop of a hat, and when he gets that next opportunity, there won’t be talk of him being “beneath Cena”, he’ll be treated as the guy who made the established WWE status quo into his b!tches every time he interacted with them. Do you even realize how monumental it is that John freaking Cena put D-Bry over squeaky clean in the 2nd/3rd most important spot of the year? Yet knowing you, if Cena EVER beats Bryan in the future, you’ll say he was buried and WWE was ruining a “godlike” talent just to feed “SuperCena”…

The irony is overwhelming in your statement that “no, apparently that’s not good enough… (and that if Bryan doesn’t get some IWC fantasy-booked title ‘run’) that this was somehow a waste of time. If you REALLY don’t see how great this was for Bryan, you’re just blind. Going into Summerslam, you were probably talking about how Bryan will get fed to Cena and buried. Then he won clean. Then he did all the other stuff I mentioned. And that’s STILL not good enough for you? Weren’t you also one of the people complaining that Punk lost to the Rock? Despite the fact that if someone told you at Survivor Series 2011 that he’d hold the title for 434 days and only lose it to one of the biggest stars ever in the business, you’d probably refuse to believe it, or cream yourself in excitement?

How about this: Take what you can and be thankfully that WWE even had the sense to give guys like Punk, Bryan, Ambrose, etc, these spots. Be thankful Vince booked things like MitB 2011, SS 2013, etc. Be thankful Bryan wasn’t beaten by Orton and punted out of the feud in their very first match, as he would have been a mere 3 years ago. Be thankful for that progress, for those mark-out moments, for WWE actually doing right by us, and stop being so selfish in your perspective that if they don’t ALWAYS do what we (the Bryan/Punk/etc fans of the world) want, then it was all for nothing, a waste of time, and a reason to complain about the company that puts the biggest spotlight in pro wrestling on these guys in the first place. When Rock beat Punk, ya know what I thought? “Man, that was a hell of a run, and I’m so glad Punk was the guy to have it”. You probably thought “I’m so disgusted with this company, they just ruined his entire reign”.

And I’m sorry that this ended up being one of my longer posts, but I’m trying to drive this point home to you– stop looking at everything through sh!t-colored glasses. It really makes you come off like a 15yo brat who kicks and screams when things don’t go your way. So if you watch Raw this week and the Wyatts take Bryan out again, don’t complain that he’s being buried, be happy that they’re going in a direction which puts a featuring spotlight on a collective of wrestlers that you like. Stop poking holes in everything, because they will ALWAYS be there, and if you can’t stop ruining it for yourself, you might as well stop watching.

Hell, The Rock NEVER held the title for longer than like 2 months, and lost so many matches that it’s almost mind-boggling how big of a star he was. Would you say that Rock was buried by Stone Cold for losing at WM15 despite Austin already being a mega-star and not needing the win? No, of course not, because Austin going over was the right call. At the end of the day, Bryan is positioned 5

  • Trinot Grigio

Did Big Show hijack Daniel Bryan’s storyline? Wow… I’m really shocked, Big Show even uses the yes chant. This is really wrong.

    • IamLisa

      Sorry, keep crying.

      • Trinot Grigio

Crying about what? If Big Show was a suitable replacement I wouldn’t mind, but Big Show sucks… He’s not over, he’s been crap for years and WWE is hitching their wagon to him????? You’re more of an idiot than they are if you agree with Big Show being the focus if RAW.

        • IamLisa

Big Show is way, waaaaaaay over, you idiot. Don’t you have ears? He’s been getting huge pops lately.

          • Trinot Grigio

He’s using Daniel Bryan ‘s chant for crowd response. Anyone’s music can hit while HHH is talking and it would get a pop

    • showoff

Tna even uses the yes chant now

  • Trinot Grigio

I hate that I can say ” I told you so” but now can we stop the Daniel Bryan is the new face if the WWE.

  • TheInstantClassic61

“WWE officials want the Survivor Series pay-per-view to feel like a big event once again.”

Guess that explains the Flo Rida theme song. SMH.

  • Willy_B10

When Bryan is doing the yes chant at 11:00 ET in March down in NOLA with 75,000 plus… He’ll be back

  • Tsall13

Great performer, awesome matches on a nightly basis and crowds are always behind him but one problem in his character… it didn’t draw money for Vince and that means no lengthy run in his future and he might be delegated to mid card after survivor series… he’s not a face of any company and he really isn’t an A+ star without the sales to back him up or the ratings no matter how great his matches are they never deepened the pockets of the owner… feel bad for him but his push came at the start of the absolute wrong time with football season starting when Cena bowed out…

  • IamLisa

YES! YES!! YES!!! YES!!!! YEESSS!!!!!! YEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!
Does anyone remember what I wrote last week? Dreams do come true, they really do.
Finally that idiot Daniel Bryan is out of the way. Let him rot with CM Junk in the mid-card, because that’s where their boring asses belong.

    • tt2000

Thank god I don’t have to put up with people like you in real life.

      • IamLisa

I couldn’t care less. Just get your ass outta here.

  • HDZ

I have a feeling that D-Bry would be back again on the title picture. Let’s be honest, him being on it until SS would become boring. However, changing or adding a side-story line is good in a way. Like Bray Wyatt said, “the Devil made him do it”, it’s just like keeping him out of the way for now by either HHH, Step, or Vince. Nothing can be really sure for now, we’ll just have to wait on see.

    • Phiruse

Well if Punk and Bry are teaming up, you can expect them attack HHH, and Orton after SS. Which could lead to the two fighting for the WWE Championship, then having a match at Mania.

That’s IF WWE is taking that road.

  • Phiruse

Well this sucks. D-Bry out of the title picture so fast. Way to go WWE, you failed to push a top guy.

    • Joseph Douglas

Did you really not see this coming? When was the last time they actually pushed somebody properly that is not named John Cena? Look at some of the people that got hugely popular only to have the WWE sweep them under the rug: Zack Ryder, Dolph Ziggler, Matt Hardy, just to name a few.

      • Phiruse

CM Punks push worked, I still see Punk as a main event even though he’s currently not in the picture. They should have just stopped the D-Bry vs. Orton feud and move D-Bry to face Triple H.

    • Me

Just because he lost the feud doesn’t mean they failed to push him. That’s what this entire angle has been about was pushing Bryan. I’d say it was a huge success. Just because you don’t walk away with the title doesn’t mean it was a failed push.

  • ShowOff76

When you think they wanted to delete Survivor Series a few years ago, now, they want it to be big again, that’s cool imo

    • Joseph Douglas

Then they should go back to only having 5 on 5 elimination matches. That is why it was called Survivor Series in the first place, to see who survived.

  • Trey Doss

looking at the comments below of people saying daniel bryan doesn’t have IT how can we know that for sure when everytime he’s gotten close to the title a roadblock was put in his way fyi the yes chants and stuff need to go i loved them as much as anyone but they need bryan to become serious and unleash the dragon if you know what i mean but as i said below at least well be seeing him a punk team up together

  • Joseph Douglas

What was the point of the last 2 months if Bryan is out of the title picture?

    • Me

It was to make Bryan look good, which if in my opinion worked quite well. They showed that he could hold his own against the likes of Orton and Cena. So he didn’t ultimately leave with the belt, that doesn’t mean it was a failure.

  • Danny Morgan

    Hey whatevers best for business

  • Mrs. Ambrose

I hope Big Show vs Triple H happen. IMO Big Show do not deserve a WWE title shot.
