The finish, which left Randy Orton with a deep bleeding gash on his head, was a work through and through. But Jericho appears to have been unaware of this. Concerned about Orton’s well-being, Jericho was waiting at the gorilla position after the match to find out what happened.
Jericho asked Michael Hayes what the finish was supposed to be but received no response, to which Jericho repied, “That’s bullsh-t.”
At this moment, Lesnar was walking by and he thought Jericho was talking about his match. Lesnar proceeded to either call Jericho a “pussy”, or told him to “shut up” and “mind your own business”. The sources vary on those specifics but the general ambience is clear enough.
Things got kind of physical, as well as overtly verbal. Jericho pushed Lesnar up against the wall. Lesnar told Jericho to either punch him or kiss him. Triple H had to rush over and break the two men up. They went back at it and this time Vince McMahon came and put a stop to it. Vinny Mac explained that the finish was a work. Basically chill out, this is wrestling, be professional.
Triple H told Vince that Jericho had only defended himself and that Lesnar started it. Finally Orton came through the curtain and confirmed that, indeed, he knew what was coming down the whole time.
