Conflicting Reports on RVD’s Status, Dolph Ziggler’s Future

– There are conflicting reports on the status of Rob Van Dam. PWInsider recently reported that RVD had 90-day blocks in his WWE contract where he would work for 90 days, take some time off and then return for another 90 days.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that RVD was buried on the September 23rd RAW because that was the internal reaction to him not signing a new contract yet. The Observer adds that RVD’s contract is up on October 1st but he’s scheduled to work another week or so past that.

– Regarding the plight of Dolph Ziggler, word is that officials don’t believe he will ever be a guy who draws money.

I didnt want to see Ziggler news but i already.. :(

If you put some faith in Dolph for once and didn’t ruin his momentum after his world title win, it might’ve been a different case.

I don’t see why they think that he will ever draw any money?. They have ADR in the main event but a lot of people say that he is boring. I don’t see ADR or Dolph Zigler boring at all. I think one day they will put Dolph Ziggler in the main event again.

I find ADR very boring as a character, it’s so stale and one dimensional, but he’s fantastic in ring, however anytime he talks I just don’t care and can’t wait to get to the next segment.

I don’t believe that to be true about dolph, given all the Ziggler shirts I see in the crowd every week, and the reactions he gets, I think he’s in a lull right now because they brought RVD back and want to put him in a prominent role while they can.

        • Mrs. Ambrose

Yeah but i don’t find ADR boring and his promos are not boring at all and i don’t think that this is the case with Dolph Ziggler.

  • Trey Doss

man this is what i hate they push guys then do something stupid and say oh he can’t draw ziggler should’ve been face since the night after mania

  • Shell

Oh god WWE.. Don’t they remember the massive pop Ziggler got when he cashed in. That shows enough that the fans want to see him wrestle. Ziggler was near main event status till WWE screwed it up. Like I said before, Ziggler is better off being an Anti-babyface and doing what he does best, showing off, and attacking his opponents out of nowhere.

That was a one time reaction from that insane NJ crowd.

  • Mike Smith

Idk just because “word is” doesn’t make it a fact. He’s still pretty young and hasn’t been worthy of top billing until the last year or two. He’s still got a lot of growing to do lol his mic skills still have a ways to go and he needs to start using sweet chin music as a finisher. He needs to have a feud like michaels had with mankind to make him look a guy that can kick some ass and not just take a good bump

  • Hansley Felix

They are idiots to think that dolph ziggler doesn’t draw money, dolph ziggler is awesome. They give him a chance and let him be in a main event

  • Steven

Dolph Ziggler won’t be able to draw money?! I BOUGHT A DOLPH ZIGGLER T-SHIRT FFS

  • Victor82

Dolph Ziggler is a top 5 in wwe. Everybody sees

  • Macho Man

It’s hard for Dolph to make WWE money when they don’t put him in a position to make them money! Dolph’s charcter has been mismanaged by WWE from DAY 1 and still counting!

  • Rotnerd

this sounds like some security/intern gossip, not from the real deals. Zig will come back, bigger than ever. They are not def and hear that pop.

  • TheHotDogKing

having top brass think you won’t draw isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Pretty sure they said the same thing about Hart and Michaels, and they are using it as an angle with Bryan right now. i’d guess whoever said it isn’t too clued in….WWE noticed the hot crowd at the RAW post ‘mania when Dolph cashed in. Dolph, supposedly a heel, cashing in against a seemingly face ADR, was over HUGE. The guy had the crappy luck of getting concussed, and now is suffering because among other things, the Bryan/HHH/Orton gig is red hot. Having him work a program with Ambrose, giving him an eventual US Title run, isn’t a bad thing. It’s no world title from 6 months ago, but it’s not like Vince just told him they were giving him a new gimmick and making him wear a glittery storm trooper helmet.
