wow! he really is the guy now…this totally makes it official…..so when Cena comes back I guess he’s christened as his replacement once Cena retires.

Cena is only 36. undertaker is 48 and still wrestles albeit on a rare occasion. Ric flair is in his 60’s and still can wrestle. Also Jerry Lawler can still wrestle. Cena can go another 10 years rather easily if u think about it…

doesn’t change the fact that Bryan is being groomed to take over his spot WHEN Cena retires..no matter when it is.

Cena can maybe go another ten years, but I doubt he’ll be doing so as the franchise guy. That role broke down Hogan and Hart by the age of 39 and they left for minimal schedules in WCW. Austin didn’t even last that long. When Cena returns he’ll be, or be going on, 37. Now is a wise time for the company to start grooming his replacement.

      • Ricardo Rodriguez

        Punk is 36

    • Mrs. Ambrose

Wow wishful thinking huh? Nobody can’t replace Cena

      • Mario Peralta

Hell, Jinder Mahal could replace John Cena

        • Steaveweiser

I hope you don’t really believe that. Cena is a great talent who every company in the world would love to have on their roster. I hate the Super Cena timid as much, if not more than, anybody else, but to deny the guy’s talent, work ethic, and importance to the industry is bloody ludicrous. I’ve never been a fan of Cena, but even I can recognize and admit that he’s a hell of a talent and has been in more than a couple classic matches. Plus his top rope leg drop always gets a reaction from me. I think Edge, Punk, D Bury, HHH, Batista, and the late great Eddie Guerrero would all emphatically agree with me and their opinion is infinitely more relevant than yours or mine.

Like I said I’m personally not a fan of his and most of his matches are stale due to his low work rate, BUT the guy does deserve credit for his accomplishments and work ethic and he always steps his game up when in the ring with a great worker.

          • Mario Peralta

Relax, it was just a joke. His Match with Daniel Bryan at Summerslam was proof that he can perform with some of the best and keep up.

Is your name Nancy? you’re pretty Negative.

        • Mrs. Ambrose

I am not the one who is negative

      • Chelsii?

Look at you, saying dumb things again.

        • Mrs. Ambrose

          Go bully somebody else

          • Chelsii?

People who say stupid things don’t get bullied, they get mocked.

          • Mrs. Ambrose

Wow then you should be #1

Honestly there’s a good chance D Bry will retire from active competition before Cena. D Bry has throughout the years worked an incredibly physical style and has a much higher work rate than Cena. Plus Cena is a freak of nature, he’s got the genetics of a monster truck lol. I really think WWE is trying to milk D Bry for everything they can get out of him before he retires because he’s one of the only guys on their roster that can work at that level. I don’t see Daniel Bryan wrestling a full time schedule 5 years from now, especially not in WWE, and why would he? He’s pretty much accomplished everything there is to accomplish in wrestling in 2013 including having a successful run in Japan and wrestling some of the greatest wrestlers of all time like KENTA and Misawa. I would like to see him have a run in NJPW, but who knows, I would love to see Daniel Bryan vs Nakamura! He doesn’t strike me as a guy who would want to finish his career in WWE.

actually he will, him and Brie have a five year plan to have kids once he’s done with the WWE..it’ll be a short lived reign as king but he’ll at least have it…that’s more than most get.

  • Juanita N Jerome Cregg

Yes! Yes! Yes! I will see him Oct. 4

  • Maddox

There can’t be another top guy of the company until The present guy leaves, Check out history and you will see. I think Bryan can be the Mankind to Cena’s Stone Cold cause I have a feeling Bryan will retire before Cena

    • Steaveweiser

No that’s not true what about Stone Cold and The Rock? What about Hogan and Warrior? What about Bret Hart and Stone Cold? What about Bob Backlund and Hogan???

      • Maddox

We still know Stone Cold was the top guy and it wasn’t until his injury and absence that The Rock became the top face. They tried to make Warrior the next top guy of the company but it didn’t work and they had to go back to Hulk Hogan. By the time Stone Cold became the top guy of the company, Bret Hart had already gone after the Montreal screwjob. By the time Hulk Hogan took the belt from Iron Sheik, Backlund had left the company and beside he couldn’t live up to the footsteps of Bruno Sammantino. Hate to say it but unless Cena hangs up the boot or stops wrestling to some certain capacity, There can’t be another guy

  • Ya Boy J Black

Bryan is the guy for now, honestly the only way he stays on top is if fans buy his merch like Cena.
