Edge Responds to Triple H’s Dig on Monday’s Raw

As seen on last night’s Raw, Triple H cut a promo at Daniel Bryan and grouped him with Edge, Rob Van Dam and Chris Jericho as talented stars who made it but were never “the guy” for WWE. Triple H said if any of them had been the face of WWE years ago, they would all be working for Ted Turner’s WCW.

Edge has replied to this segment on his Twitter account, “I think everyone forgets it’s entertainment. Santa isn’t real either. Or the Easter Bunny(I think, rabbits are sneaky) @GioPontiFan @TripleH”

scripted or not what hhh said was nothing but the truth

HBK carried HHH for years, that’s a fact. HHH got pushed to the moon thanks to his marriage to Stephanie. Does HHH really think he would’ve been pushed as much as he was if he hadn’t married into the family? I’m a fan of his too, but I call it how I see it.

      • Trey Doss

exactly if hbk didn’t leave for 4 yrs triple h wouldn’t have never became the leader of dx and became who he is today

        • JH

Give him some credit, when Shawn left HHH didn’t miss a beat and continued making DX one of the highlights of the era.

      • JH

Triple H was pushed to the moon long before he and steph actually got married.

        • P1

HHH was pushed but you can’t tell me with a straight face his marriage to Steph didn’t boost his stock. Secondly, HHH is burying guys for not being “the face of wwe or the #1 guy;” yet, he was always behind guys like Taker, Austin and The Rock when it came to drawing numbers.

          • JH

Tough to say whether or not his marriage bolstered his standing in the company, but I’m positive he knew that would be the perception when he got into a relationship with Stephanie, but from what I could tell from watching back in the day, Vince was always high on him and why not? He fits everything you would expect from a typical Vince guy, bodybuilder physique, a really hard worker and has never gotten in trouble outside of the ring. I know he wasn’t the face of the company during the attitude era, but after the rock left, and Austin retired, he was one of the top 2 or 3 guys.

I dunno I’m fairly sure he’s not that egotistical, and that the creative team recently have just been playing on the general public’s perception of him, and the response everyone’s having is exactly the one they wanted.

          • P1

Listen, I respect him for what he has given us fans with his performances and I am a fan of the guy; he is one hell of a wrestler. I’m not taking that away from him.

      • Rako

carried? BS. Where was he, when Hunter was buried for curtain call?

    • Rako

LOL exactly the reason for all the butthurt and rage.

  • Devon

He was the #5 guy in the attitude era behind Austin, Rock, Taker & Foley

    • Rako

What Triple H? He was #3. taker and foley were like Shawn and jericho back then, on and off between the main event and mid card.

      • Devon

Taker was in the main event for 80% of 1998, 60% of 1999, 60% of 2000, and 50% of 2001. HHH wasn’t a main eventer until 2000 and then by 2001 he was IC champ(mid card) and then got hurt. HHH was #5

  • Jacob’s Verbal Fist

Triple H has always buried wrestlers he felt threatened by so he could continue to hog the spotlight. The only difference now is that he is retired from the ring (mostly) and as a result he is severely hurting the company he is supposed to be running. He is a phony politician, make no mistake. One of the most gifted pro wrestlers who ever lived, but the guy is a true slime ball. If Daniel wants to stay relevant for the long haul, he is going to have to play politics himself, like Steve Austin did, and simply refuse to do anything that damages the integrity of his character. Time for Daniel to learn to say NO.

    • Rako

lmfao If triple H wanted to bury Bryan, he’d have F*CKING BURY bryan. not give him main events, wins over orton, shield, associate with Shawn etc… get a clue.

  • Matt Rennick

Edge carried the company for quite a while. He may be the best heal champion of the modern era

  • Trey Doss

i just thought about this and i’ll also say that hhh did take the heat from when nash and hall jumped to wcw and shawn was the top guy on contrary to my statement below i think hhh still might have been a star just not as big as he was/is
