Eric Bischoff Comments On Hulk Hogan’s Lawsuit Against Gawker

Hulk Hogan is seeking $100 million in damages after Gawker released sex tapes that included himself and Bubba The Love Sponge’s then-wife Heather Clem. Both sides appeared in court on Monday to start the trial.

Eric Bischoff, who is good friends with Hogan, commented on the case via Facebook:

One of my best friends, and someone who is recognized all over the world, is in a high profile trial that not only continues to expose the most intimate and embarrassing part of his (presumably) private life, but will determine just how far blog sites can go to exploit and ruin the lives of others-celebrities or not. Clearly I am not objective. I know the man as well or better than anyone outside his family. I ask any wrestling fans out there-to support this man in your thoughts and prayers as he defends himself and his family agains a group that has caused so much pain and suffering to so many-just to get a visit, click, follow or tweet. He’s not perfect. None of us are. But no one deserves what has happened to him. Looking forward to seeing him at peace.

Based on previous reportings, Bubba’s ex-employee stole the tape from Bubba’s personal stash and sold it to Gawker. Hogan’s personal life is display for the world to see. How can Gawker legally allow the viewing of the tape when those recorded in it did not approve of it? It wasn’t recorded from across someone’s yard or some crap like that. Hogan shouldn’t have had sex with the wife, but that tape shouldn’t have seen daylight. Because of that release, Hogan lost his WWE gig. That is Gawkers fault. I truly believe Hogan didn’t know it was there or he wouldn’t have said what he did. All in all, Hogan should win the case.
