Former NFL Star Training with WWE?, WWE Hall of Fame Updates

– It appears former NFL player Shawne Merriman, who has had some Twitter beef with CM Punk in the past, is training with WWE. Bill DeMott noted on Twitter that Merriman was at the WWE Performance Center training this week. Merriman posted the following on Facebook after his first day at the Performance Center:

“A hard days work 1 down 364 to go #PainWhatPain #LightsOut”

– WWE has been quietly purchasing items for a physical Hall of Fame. They were recently in negotiations with Charlie Thesz, the widow of wrestling legend Lou Thesz, over a number of his one-of-a-kind items. If the deals went through, WWE would likely induct Thesz into the Hall of Fame.

Already counting down the days until his first wellness violation or injury… Merriman was a juicer that depended on the roids not just for performance, but because his body literally couldn’t stay in one piece if he wasn’t taking them. >.>

Why do WWE keeps hiring pro football player rejects?.

    • xXwindsofchangeXx

Probably because they’re usually very big and very athletic for their size and WWE figures a few years in developmental will teach them what they need to know in the ring. Admittedly, it’s not an awful idea in theory, but in practice it just doesn’t really work that well in most cases. Although, to be fair, The Rock washed out of football before starting his WWE career, too…

I feel like that WWE is trying to create The Rock all over again.

This isn’t a new thing. WWE’s constantly trying to duplicate superstars from earlier eras. But when it’s manufactured, it always shows.
