Jerry “The King” Lawler Speaks From Jail About Domestic Violence Arrest

WWE Hall of Fame
Jerry “The King” Lawler spoke with WMC Action News 5 from jail, as the WWE Hall of Famer was arrested with his fiancée Lauryn McBride for domestic violence early Friday.

The argument started when McBride returned home from a friend’s house and was intoxicated according to Lawler.

“We got into a little bit of a shouting match and then she wanted to leave,” said Lawler. “I was not going to let her leave in the car, because she was just not in any condition to drive. She got more and more upset, she called 9-1-1 and scratched my face in the process. The police came in and said that this was a domestic dispute and that they were ‘going to have to take both of you guys downtown.'”

Lawler admitted to having an unloaded gun at the time, but denied reports the two got physical.

When the news was released, WWE quickly suspended Lawler.
