Jim Ross Blogs On Titus O’Neil’s Suspension From WWE

WWE Hall of Fame
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has posted a new blog entry over at his website where he gives his thoughts on WWE suspending Titus O’Neil for grabbing Vince McMahon’s arm after last Monday’s episode of RAW went off the air. Here is what Ross wrote:

The controversial suspension of Titus O’Neil by WWE last week for ‘unprofessional conduct’ still hs many folks scratching their head. I can’t render a clear cut opinion based on the brief video clip that was floating around for a while plus I’ve talked to no one about the matter that would know any substantive information. I’ve never known Titus to be a problem and actually he’s one of WWE’s most willing participants when it comes to volunteer and charity work. I only wonder, in hindsight, how this matter would have been adjudicated if the decision regarding punishment was delayed until the next day when all parties had a night to sleep on this matter. I have heard that Titus was fined in the neighborhood of 5K for his conduct plus a 60 day suspension. One has to wonder if this punishment was also utilized to get the attention of the entire roster especially if some talents were thought to be becoming to lax in their approach to their job.

Could this have been a matter where too many talents are relaxing in their comfort zones which is the proverbial ‘kiss of death’ in any organization? That’s 100% speculation on my behalf by the way. At the end of the day, I hope that Titus O’Neil is able to find his way back into the good graces with the powers that be and can resume his WWE career.

While I don’t agree with the suspension, I do believe it was to set an example as well. Too bad. Even though he’s terrible in the ring, I like titus

but set an example for what? and if you want to send a message by using someone like Titus, wouldn’t 1 week be enough, after all the “transgression” according to all reports was a minimal one yet they give him a max type sentence like that?? sorry..I agree with you on there shouldn’t have been a suspension but the set an example part? no or at least the harsh degree of it

Not saying I agree with setting an example. Just read that a lot of talk about how many of the superstars aren’t being professional and it was a message to everyone. I agree the length is extremely stupid

Maybe Vince was still pissed about the non-PG tone and the multiple ‘wrestler’ references in Bryan’s farewell speech, that he snapped.
