John Cena Addresses Critics On His Lighter Work Schedule

WWE Champion
This summer, John Cena is working less live events but that doesn’t mean he’s slowing down. The 15 times WWE Champion took to Twitter to address any concerns.

The past 12 months have seen less of Cena on TV. He was filming a TV show before shortly returning in the fall of last year. A shoulder injury caused Cena to not be booked at WrestleMania 32 and miss about half of 2016.

In his pay per view return, Cena lost to AJ Styles at Money in the Bank after The Club got involved. Big Cass and Enzo have teamed with Cena to even the odds.

A lighter schedule fits Cena right now. He’s not getting younger, and if he wants to continue his longevity in the ring he’ll need more downtime.

Plus less cena means he puts in more effort. I’ve enjoyed all of his matches since the beginning of his us open challenges

How ridiculous is this? Honestly. This dude CANNOT win. If he pulls back, it’s like “oh, well, you should work the full schedule like everyone else.” If he’s all in, it’s like, “Well, you need to stop hogging the spotlight and give some other guys a chance.” Jesus.

The guy’s 38 and I think this is his third calendar year in a row where he’s suffered some sort of significant injury. Up until injuries started forcing him, he never, and I mean NEVER took time off.

I’m not a Cena mark or anything. I just think it’s dumb.
