John Cena on WrestleMania Dream Opponent & Holding a Second-Tier Championship

John Cena spoke with about the World Heavyweight Championship being viewed as a ‘second-tier’ title.

“This is not taken as a shot of disrespect to anyone who has held the title before me, but it’s now viewed as a second-tier championship. (Defending it at WrestleMania 30) will truly put a stamp on making it the real deal. I want the WWE universe to realize that it’s not a second-tier championship. It should be treated with as much respect as the WWE title.”

Cena also discussed his WrestleMania dream opponent.

“I really got to live a dream the past few years having some big marquee matchups with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. And when you rub elbows with a guy like The Rock, you truly are in the company of the greatest of all-time. It was like watching a prize fight where everyone is just throwing haymakers. For us to be interactive over a 2 1/2 year span, it was pretty impressive, especially in this day and age. It was a dream scenario for me.”

This interview reveals the sole purpose of Sandow’s cash-in: to lay the road open for a long Cena title reign, with no one worrying about a Sandow cash-in situation. He will hold the title till Mania at the very least, this interview basically confirms that. I just hope he isnt on last again. That spot should go to Punk & Bryan, anyone else getting it is a travesty.

That is assuming Punk and Bryan are in the same match at Mania. And make no mistake, I’m all for that.

It’s a second-tier championship. It has a rich history but it is not WWF belt that started this company. watch this panel when Shaemus realizes they treat is as a 2nd tear belt, ,watch it around 11:10 where JR calls it the best title and SHaemus begs for the mic lol

As sad as it was seeing Damian losing it, i think John holding it will make that title important again. As long as Sandow doesn’t moan, and im sure he won’t, and he just gets on with it he will hold the championship sooner rather than later

I’m perfectly fine with a long Cena title run for with that belt, it can definitely use that shine, the title definitely needs the help, as for Sandow’s cash in, I loved it, even though he lost, it looks like he’s going to be getting a good run contending for the title.

The only thing I would have changed about it would have been to wait for Del Rio to have his rematch, Sandow and Cena look like they could have an awesome program together, but having to focus back on ADR, a Sandow rivalry is going to cool off from the great start it had.
