Kharma’s Profile Removed From WWE Main Roster, Added To Alumni List

Amidst rumors that WWE have parted ways with Kharma after their official Twitter feed moved her profile to its list of Alumni on Thursday, her profile has been removed from the company website’s list of Raw Superstars. It now resides in the Alumni section among other former WWE performers.

WWE has not issued a message stating that she has been released.

The accomplished grappler addressed rumors of her WWE demise via Twitter, writing Thursday, “Getting a flood of dm’s. I guess the cat’s out of the bag. Yes. I have been officially promoted to the alumni section of the WWE roster.”

Ryan Satin of then said she was let go by the sports entertainment organization on Thursday, writing on Twitter, “A source close to Kharma tells me the rumors are true and she was indeed released from WWE today. Dumbest WWE release in SOOO LONG!!!”

Kharma, whose real name is Kia Michelle Stevens, signed a contract with WWE in December of 2010 and made her debut on May 1, 2011 at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view as she decimated Michelle McCool. Weeks later, Kharma spoke for the first time on television to reveal she was pregnant and thus forced to take a leave of absence from the organization. Stevens made a surprise return in January as the twenty-first entrant in the Royal Rumble Match and subsequently announced to that she had given birth to a baby boy named Jamie on December 31, 2011. She then admitted in March that the child died before she could give birth and had lied due to her emotional state at the time.

Again, no matter how much evidence there is to support the claim or the amount of history that WWE has of making dumb releases, there is little to nothing that can make me believe WWE would be THAT stupid and release her. She is one of the most over wrestlers that they have, and she’s not even on TV. Fuck, she hasn’t even wrestled in a legitimate match. Beth Phoenix and Layla have put on good showings together in the past few months (especially when compared to what we’re used to) and the fans STILL chant loudly and in unison, “WE WANT KHARMA!”. Not to mention, I’m sure most, if not all, of the females are eager to work with her.

This is all either a giant work, that’s going to piss off the fans to the point that they’ll actually mark out when she appears on the 1000th Raw, or she asked to be released due to her personal life. Either way, we should wait for an ACTUAL press release from WWE or at least a less vague response from Kharma herself before we all start flipping shit.

WWE might not be making any kind of official announcement. Maryse leaving last October was the last time they made an official statement about someone leaving and didn’t just move the wrestler’s profile to the Alumni section.

If I had to guess, they may keep Kharma as a part-time performer while she continues to work herself into enough shape to do a full-time schedule. While I’m sure the WWE brass aren’t complaining, Kharma is a bit TOO over. What I mean by that is that, she’s obviously not the only diva in the company with decent wrestling skill. Not counting anyone on the FCW side, you’ve obviously got Beth, Natalya, Layla, as well as AJ. Hell, Eve’s not terrible, even though she’s obviously much better at the backstage bit than she is in the ring. (For what it’s worth, I could see her being a decent GM character herself one day.) Kharma’s overshadowed the rest of those Divas (except maybe AJ) in her absence. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of her, too – but it really pissed me off that PPV when Layla came back a year after blowing her knee out (and her injury has ended countless careers in pro wrestling and in about every sport imaginable), wrestled what I thought was a pretty decent match with Beth Phoenix for the Divas title, and the match got a ‘meh’ reaction all because everyone was so amped to see Kharma. I even heard “WE WANT KHARMA!” chants a couple of times during the match itself and I thought, “Even if you DO want Kharma, that’s just plain rude.” So, it may be great for us fans to see her return and wrestle every week, but it might be better for her and for the division as a whole for the crowd to get Kharma in small doses – if there is such a thing.

if she for some stupid reason did get released, i hope the iwc and fans in general make a big fuss about this the way they did when daniel bryan got let go. If she asked to be released, hope she gets her stuff together and comes back.

I kind of knew she wasn’t going to get far in wwe because I always felt they signed her just to get her away from tna like Gail Kim years back. Now that Gail is back in tna I wouldn’t be surprised if Kharma’s back too.

WWE fucked up big. They were moving in the right direction and could’ve had a great match w Kharma/Beth Phoenix. People would’ve love to see Kharma/Beth Phoenix on WrestleMania. Hope WWE realizes they fucked up once they see the ratings go extremely down whenever they have Layla, Kelly Kelly and Eve wrestle. I hate to admit it but
    TNA Knockouts > WWE Divas

@Dro, if your name doesn’t already suggest so, that comment leads me to believe you’re high.

    1. There’s still nothing to suggest that this is even LEGIT, let alone that it was WWE’s decision to let her go.
    2. Kharma hasn’t even been there for over a year, how would her continuing not to be there effect the ratings?
    3. The ratings go down anytime someone who isn’t John Cena is on; they mean shit.
    4. Layla is one of the best wrestlers that they have right now, right up there with Beth and Natalya. She’s one of the few divas who will/can do actual mat-based wrestling. Assuming she’s a bad wrestler just because she’s hot and fits the Kelly Kelly mold is no better than assuming a big girl can’t be a “Diva”, which is the kind of thinking that kept Kharma from getting into the WWE a lot sooner.
