Lawler Incident Postpones Plans, Latest on JR Returning to RAW, More

– The August 13th RAW had 299,000 homes watching on DVR or tape delay while the August 20th show had 361,000 homes watching on DVR or tape delay.

– The people at WWE ’13 were set to release some significant content this week but that was put on hold because of what happened with Jerry Lawler at RAW.

– We noted before that Jim Ross teased the October 1st RAW from Oklahoma City would be a special night for him. Local advertisements airing during Monday’s RAW were pushing it as Jim Ross Appreciation Night. No word yet if Ross will appear on TV.

  • WWE should bring Jim Ross back to the announce table in Jerry Lawler’s absence. Surely JR would be happy to do it, and the WWE Universe would enjoy him.

JR has to much respect for King to sit in his seat after he had a heart attack. You people can dilike this comment all you want, I am 100% sure that JR wont be replacing King.

Why not bring Regal in to help with the announcing duties? If not Regal, then how about Matt Striker? Either one would be an excellent choice, and would be like a breath of fresh air to the broadcast, at least for those watching at home.

  • I don’t believe JR would see it as disrespecting his friend Jerry Lawler. The show must go on, and somebody has to help Michael Cole with the announcing duties. The King himself wouldn’t want everything to come to a halt. JR just seems like a good choice, but there have been some other good ones mentioned here, too. Even Mick Foley could come back to help out occasionally. Or what about JBL? How cool would that be?

Ask Jerry who should sit in his seat until he is able to return – I’ll bet only one name leaves lips, and at that only two letters….

Though I do think JR appreciation night should be postponed unless the king can attend – having JR night without the king doesn’t make sense – they were very much a double act and neither was as good without the other (not dissing, just my opinion)
