Lots of News, Photos and More from Kurt Angle’s HOF Ceremony

– Below is the video that was shown at last night’s TNA Hall of Fame induction ceremony for Kurt Angle:

– Around 250 fans plus TNA wrestlers and staff were in attendance for the Hall of Fame ceremony last night in San Diego.

– TNA President Dixie Carter did not attend the ceremony. The decision was made for her not to attend because of the current direction of her TV character.

– Karen and Jeff Jarrett were in attendance and sitting at the same table with Kurt Angle’s wife and family. Sting was also in attendance.

– Fans in attendance noted that Angle’s speech went between 2 minutes and 5 minutes. We know that others, including Magnus, spoke before Angle.

– Here are two photos from the ceremony:

It was probably better than the WWE Hall of Fame, where bored fans and family members wriggle in their seats and play with their phones through much of the speeches and introductions. I vividly remember Nick Hogan yawning and looking so put out, to have to stand up and applaud some of the legends, who he didn’t have a clue who they were — nor cared to.

I was at the 2012 WWE HOF in Miami and I certainly was not bored nor were the people around me. That doesnt speak for everyone, but certainly A LOT of people were not bored, were invested in the speeches and had a great time.

Good to hear that you, and apparently the people around you had a good time at the WWE HOF in Miami. My observations are based on what I’ve seen on the DVDs year after year as the camera pans around the arena. If you watch closely, more often than not, people in attendance are playing with their phones, yawning, or slumped over in their seats. The girlfriends of the wrestlers in the first 10 rows especially look disinterested during inductions for Bob Backlund, Mil Mascaras, Gordon Solie, the Blackjacks, the list goes on and on. I really enjoy watching every single induction at these Hall of Fame ceremonies, but there’s no denying much of the history is lost on that attention deficit and disrespectful audience that become restless and yell out unoriginal drivel throughout the speeches. You would never see such nonsense at the Hall of Fame in Amsterdam or the Cauliflower Alley Club in Las Vegas that honors legends like Bruno Sammartino, Nick Bockwinkel, Jim Ross, etc, etc. Anyways, just wanted to share. Thanks for sharing your first-hand experience having attended the HOF last year.

HoF at WM 24 was amazing. They changed the format after that though and b/c of time limitations, it wasnt nearly as good the next year when SCSA, Ricky Steamboat, the Funks, etc went in. During that time, I was already watching wwe in a very limited way. After that though, I had completely stopped (only watched wrestlemania 26 which was another disappointment and final nail in the coffin for me) and didnt attend Wrestlemania or the HoF, even when it was in Miami in 2012.

Dixie not being there is stupid! When Vince was WWE’s top heel, he was always at the HOF Ceremony! The HOF Ceremony is suppose to be separate from the TV product, not storyline crap involved! It isn’t even on TV!
