Mickie James Contract with TNA Expires

Mickie James’ contract with TNA Wrestling has expired as of today, and she is now a free agent. James reportedly rejected a recent offer from the company.

James signed with TNA back in September of 2010, and made her debut on the October 7th episode of Impact Wrestling. She went on to win the TNA Women’s Knockout Championship three times.

I think Mickie James should come back to the WWE.

    • Aaron

WWE needs her to give the Divas who can actually wrestle some much needed help to sell their matches and be a mentor for the younger Divas!

      • Mrs. Ambrose

Yeah she can make the divas better than ever.

    • wrestlinfan

only thing is the trouble she got into when she broke up with cena, he or nikki could block her coming back.

      • Mrs. Ambrose

I hope Cena or Nikki will not block Mickie James from coming back.

  • Abudadein

Mickie James is quite possibly the best female wrestler in North America today.

    • Aaron

I love her but, no, she is not! Do some research!

      • Abudadein

Please advise on where I can do such research. Thank you.

        • Aaron

          The internet!

          • Abudadein

Yes, but can you be more specific with regards to which sources I should be checking that will substantiate your definitive statement that Mickie James is not “quite possibly the best female wrestler in North America today.” Only when you can provide me with such concrete evidence, will I consider your rebuttal to have any value. (I would also reconsider your usage of exclamation points, as they lose all meaning when used excessively)

          • Aaron

Sara Del Rey is a great starting point! If you start with her you will discover a whole lot more. There is a reason WWE brought her in as a trainer for their developmental system.

          • Abudadein

I’ve watched dozens of Sara Del Rey matches, but what I’m looking for is substantiated evidence that my statement “[Mickie James] is quite possibly the best female wrestler in North American today” is incorrect, as you stated. You advised that I do research. I am willing to do that, but simply watching a pile of Sara Del Rey matches — which I’ve already done — will not prove your statement to be irrefutably true, if I still hold the opinion that Mickie James is quite possibly the best female wrestler in North America today.

          • Aaron

Have you seen Cheerleader Melissa? There are also a few Japanese women who are wrestling in the US right now who are really good. Japanese wrestlers are some of the most technical wrestlers. Hamada is really good, it was unfortunate TNA miss used her when she was in TNA.

          • Abudadein

Yes, I’ve watched numerous hours of Cheerleader Melissa matches and had the privilege of seeing her wrestle live in Chicago for Resistance Pro on a few occasions. Very talented. I’m also well versed in Japanese women wrestlers like Ayako Hamada, who you mentioned, and really enjoyed her matches against Tomoka Nakagawa and Aja Kong. When I traveled to Mexico about five years ago, I managed to catch a couple AAA shows and saw Hamada wrestle. I had great ringside seats and was really impressed. And I agree, TNA didn’t have a clue what to do with her. Having said all that, you still have yet to successfully debunk my original statement — “[Mickie James] is quite possibly the best female wrestler in North America today” — with anything substantiated.

          • Aaron

All I going to say is Mickie is a good wrestler but, when it comes to technical proficiency she isn’t even the best in TNA those honors go to Gail Kim. Mickie has every other requirement but, technically she is lacking. To be considered the best you have to be technically proficient. I have only seen her wrestle one style of match but, women like Sara Del Rey can wrestle more than one style of match.

          • Abudadein

You’ve made some very valid points in this lively discussion. Thank you for sharing your insight and passion for women’s wrestling (Kindly, I recommend you proofread your comments for grammar and typos before hitting the send button).

    • Richie

Mickie is a great, there is no doubt about that! But its hard to call her the best in the country when there are ladies out there like Sara Del Ray, Cheerleader Melissa and a handful of others!

      • Aaron

        Dead-on!

      • tt2000

Sara del Rey is “out there”? She’s a full-time trainer now so she’s inactive.

        • Richie

That doesn’t change the fact that shes arguably the best female wrestler in the country! She could return to the ring at any time if they want her to! Or if she ends up leaving WWE down the road! The fact that shes a trainer now does not mean she is any less talented than she was before coming to WWE!

          • tt2000

She can’t be the best female wrestler in America today if she’s not currently active. That’s all.

  • Zacholyte

This is hilarious. They lost their Knockouts champ. Haha, so who is left Kim, ODB and kind of velvet?

    • Richie

Mickie’s last match at this point will air THIS Thursday, she defends the title against ODB, spoilers are out there if u wanna know what happens!

  • Damian Starr

surely she would have the decency to do one more match so that the strap isn’t awkwardly awarded to one of the other knock outs in her leaving. Like is it really going to hurt her that much to do that, especially as shes rejected their contract

    • tmeister

For what so she can lose and just said i quit -_-

      • Damian Starr

makes a better story than her disappearing so to hell with it lets have a tournament

  • Miles Jubert Roberson

Mickie please return to wwe and save your career TNA is falling fast Mickie just please return to wwe

  • Panama Stallion

She could go back to doing porn. Her gimmick acting was absolutely horrible. Tried to be Madison Rayne and it FAILED!!!

    • tmeister

      really, really, really?

      • Panama Stallion

        Yes, yes, yes

  • Jr

And Dixie Carter will tell you there’s nothing to worry about despite losing a talent like Mickie.
Tna is sinking and I think this time Dixie’s parents are not coming to the resue. As business people you can only tolerate loss of $ for so long.

  • tmeister

Lets be real, Mickie (who is my fav) was not happy in tna and who actually is these days with dixie cater not caring for who leaves or stay, serious if they lose more people like A.j and still have money issues they might as well throw in the towel. Don’t get me wrong i watch impact but they have a whole lot of fixing to do.
As far as a wwe return, can we really say after the crap she went through in wwe that they will actually use her right if they resign her since we all know how Vince feels about his former employees jumping to tna and like i want to see her back but not fall under “lets bring a star back, push for a little bit and then depush them badly” run like they did A-train.

  • TrollNonstopAction

    I hope she re-signs.
