Paige Violates WWE’s Wellness Policy

Paige has violated the WWE’s wellness policy and has been suspended for 30 days. This comes on the heels of Alberto Del Rio’s violation and suspension within the same 24 hour period.

From WWE:

STAMFORD, Conn. — WWE has suspended Saraya-Jade Bevis (Paige) for 30 days effective Thursday, Aug. 18, for her first violation of the company’s talent wellness policy.

Apparently Del Rio and Paige were rolling and ripping rails together on the weekend. Or maybe they smoked a dreaded and vile marijuana cigarette. Either way, they were involved in something sordidly uncouth and 30 days on ice will give them plenty of time to repent. 10 Our Fathers and 10 Hail Marys. Isn’t that how it goes?

Anyone remember a day when wrestlers lived like rock stars and the product still managed to be just as good? Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and Shawn Michaels eating a bag of 100 Somas in a hotel room after a show, laid out and periodically asking each other if they were still alive? Or how they would pop a handful of pills before walking through the curtain. By the time they felt it kicking in they knew it was time to hit the finish and get out of there to join the debauched backstage party.

Sure, some people died. But some people LIVED! Sort of reminds me of this Bill Hicks bit:

And look at the quivering shame in this Tweet from Roman Reigns when he violated the wellness policy:

Look at some of the comments: “I believed in you. I thought you cared about us.” Jesus Crikey. What are we doing to these people? Drug use is not advisable but they’re entertainers not brain surgeons.

Obviously substance abuse is not healthy and being well-balanced is the best way to rise through the ranks in life. But shoot stories about the Kliq will always beat hearing about that one time someone puffed the magic dragon and failed a “Wellness Policy”.
