Plans for Chris Jericho and The Undertaker at WrestleMania This Year

After speaking to several sources, new talk has surfaced within WWE regarding WrestleMania 28 plans.

Contrary to what has been previously reported, it appears that The Undertaker vs. Chris Jericho and Triple H vs. CM Punk are the two big matches currently being discussed.

WWE is aware that due to online reports, fans have been expecting the tentative plan for Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk at Mania, and while those plans have not been scrapped by any means, officials have discussed a creative shake-up. In addition to the internet motive, there is belief internally that more could have been done in the past between CM Punk and Triple H.

Chris Jericho and The Undertaker also provides a fresh WrestleMania match up compared to a third WrestleMania meeting between Triple H vs. The Undertaker, which as reported, has been on the table for quite some time.

Again, we can’t confirm at this time that either of the above matches will take place at WrestleMania 28 but both are being heavily considered. The week of the Royal Rumble is always a big week creatively, and WWE likes to have the major WrestleMania matches in place as much of what happens at the Rumble of course feeds into WrestleMania.

Triple H is scheduled to appear on RAW this Monday conducting the job “evaluation” of John Laurinaitis.

Obviously after the Royal Rumble, plans may and should become clearer.

The new plan looks good. I hope they stick with it

If these plans go underway, it shows that the internet affects wrestling, to a point where it can be annoying. I remember reading Christian being the guy to feud with Jeff Hardy, but because plans leaked out, they switched it to Matt Hardy, which was in 2009. I was pissed at that, despite the feud being good.

However, in this regard, I’d dig these plans a lot. I prefer Jericho/’Taker over Jericho/Punk. The “end of the world as you know it” thing can be spun as the end of the Streak. That’s more of an apocalyptic thought than Punk’s WWE title reign coming to an end. Plus, Jericho and Undertaker had some matches on SD, and I trust them to go above and beyond in a grander stage.

As for HHH/Punk, there is no point in Hunter winning. WWE title or not, as he’s up there and age and doesn’t need any defining wins in his already illustrious career. CM Punk and Hunter did not have the feud I had hoped for, as they did everything to prevent that: whether it be Cena, Del Rio, Nash, or Awesome Truth. Stripped down, one on one, it can be epic.

Y2J says to Punk on Raw – You’re a phony Punk, I am the BEST in the world!!
*lights go off for a min and there’s the Gong*
    *Fans go crazy*

Exactly what we need Triple H still main-eventing WM in 2012.

No matter what, there will be a nice paycheck for Mr. Levesque at WM28.

Stop stealing Justin LaBar’s reports. This was a exclusive, please give them credit.

Undertaker vs Jericho ? Niceeee ! But Hunter in the main event against Punk? Are you serious ?! I’d rather see somebody else, like christian or I dont know …

For that cm punk and triple h match to work. They would need to turn Triple H heel and side with Laurinatis. This would result in CM Punk w/ Vince McMahon vs Triple H w/ Laurinitis.

  • What?

Taker vs Y2J im excited for. although a Punk vs Y2J match would easily be as good.

glad the Taker vs HHH option is being considered to not take place. although i dont see the need for HHH to main event another mania. yes, ive missed HHH as an active wrestler but he already has a great career. HHH is more for the youth movement than Vince is and its time HHH replaces his spot with a younger talent or someone that deserves it.

yeah bitches y2j vs phenom hell yeah…

Yea that’s gonna be a great build up. Punk running verbal circles around HHH and the only comeback we get is “Skinny fat ass!”

Jericho is the only current superstar in the WWE who can keep up with Punk on a mic. I was REALLY looking forward to that.
