Plans for Del Rio’s World Title Rematch, Foley Comments on Sandow Segment

– Mick Foley says Damien Sandow losing after cashing in his Money In the Bank briefcase on RAW was not a burial. Foley says what we saw on RAW was the dawning of the age of Sandow. Foley tweeted:

“THAT WAS AWESOME! Who else found themselves being swept up in the wave of excitement that IS @TheDamienSandow-mania! #RAW Way to go Damien! Come on all you #DebbieDowners out there – what happened to @TheDamienSandow was FAR from a burial! It was the dawning of the age of Sandow! One year from today, I will remind all of you that I declared October 28,2013 as the dawning of the age of @TheDamienSandow-mania! #RAW”

– Word after WWE Hell In a Cell was that the Alberto Del Rio vs. John Cena rematch would take place before the Survivor Series pay-per-view on free TV. However, word coming out of RAW last night was that Del Rio vs. Cena for the World Heavyweight Title will indeed take place at Survivor Series.

I know Foley knows just a tad bit more about the industry and how the WWE works bak stage than I do, but he’s wrong. This isn’t to say Sandows career is over, but this is a definite burial. Cena kicked out o 2 finishes and brag Sandow on a one armed AA. MITB is supposed to be used to build stars. This did NOTHING for Sandow. He had a good match? So what? We already knew the dude could go. This made him look week. Cena beat him with one arm behind his back, that’s job status.

I have to agree. I mean, Foley maybe right about this not supposing to be a burial, but he fails to realize there are different way to get buried. Rather creative and other higher ups meant to bury Sandow or not, they did. And they are burying Cena as well because I saw children leaving their seats during that match. Nothing’s really changed now. Cena’s just burying Smackdown stars instead of RAW stars now.

They brought him back too soon. And with them going full on Supercena right now, it’s like he never left. They didn’t give us enough time to stop being sick of him. So now it back to same old schtick and nothing has changed for Cena other than his target group is starting to lose interest.

So we can pay to watch yet another ppv where Cena wins. Haven’t seen that a miilion times already. If they want to do something new and fresh actually have Cena tap out.

DEl Rio needs to go away. He is boring and brings nothing. If Cena would stay benched with Shaemus the product would be better without those three.

Cena and Sheamus are over with the kids, but I don’t get the Del Rio fascination. He never got over as a heel and got a polite response as a babyface which quickly tapered off. I respect his in ring ability but he’s a bust as a sports entertainer. I’m sure he’d have been over in the 1980s but his hammy acting and overall gimmick sits very awkwardly in the 2010s wrestling landscape.
