Possible R-Truth Plans, Goldust Update, More from Battleground

– WWE’s website has posted interviews with CM Punk, R-Truth, the Rhodes family and others with their post-Battleground reactions.

– The storyline reason for Triple H and Stephanie McMahon not being on the Battleground pay-per-view is that they were called away to an emergency meeting before the show started.

– Goldust is now back on the WWE roster after the Rhodes family’s big win last night. It was never made clear that Goldust would get a job if they won. As noted, he is working under a short-term deal with WWE and is expected to be around through WrestleMania XXX.

– WWE creative has been discussing a R-Truth heel turn.

I loved R-Truth as a heel but where would he fit in? All the championships except the WWE Championship is being held by heels.

    • xXwindsofchangeXx

Well, if we’re being technical, the WWE Championship is being ‘held’ by Triple H, too… They need to repackage him but a heel turn is probably a bad idea because they don’t have enough faces on the roster, PERIOD.

R truth heel turn and world title win would be awesome

  • CM Punk BITW

R-Truth Heel? Does this mean Little Jimmy will be coming back?

    • Joseph_Rocha

      We can only hope so

Truth needs a heel turn. His heel run in mid-2011 was brilliant but WWE, as always, screwed up the whole thing by turning him face.

    • xXwindsofchangeXx

I disagree. WWE screwed up the whole thing by having him drop the crazy gimmick and making him 2009 R-Truth again. When he initially turned face, he was actually pretty over. I remember a promo he did right before the 2012 Elimination Chamber. I still laugh my @ss off every time I see it.

  • Jacob’s Verbal Fist

R-Truth is worthless when he isnt heel.

    • xXwindsofchangeXx

I dunno about that, he’s still a very good wrestler and amazingly agile, especially given his age… but he’s definitely most interesting as a heel – or more specifically, as he was during his last heel run.

  • Dan Saint

The promo vid he was in last night for Hell In A Cell was pretty solid….I could see them turn him into an Evangical preacher type gimmick. Kind of rehash “Reverend D-Von” but instead of being a corrupt minister….Truth would just be a hypocritical one.

    • xXwindsofchangeXx

      YES.

  • Shell

I hope R-Truth’s heel turn will give him that preacher gimmick. Something we need in the WWE. If Kane does return as a monster heel again, get R-Truth to be his manager.

  • Sieg

R-Truth needs an entirely new character. No more dancing, no more rapping, no more little jimmy. We have enough mentally unstable characters on the roster, how about him just being ruthless and badass like Mark Henry? A gimmick where he has a chip on his shoulder and he’s intensely bitter and mean could be more fun than a dancing, rapping heel Truth.

  • jcice13

I don’t know why some people want Truth to be a heel preacher character when they already have someone, bray wyatt, in that type of role, now if they want to put him in with the wyatt family that would be one thing but as a separate entity? no

    • Shell

Bray Wyatt’s gimmick is more of a Cajun cult. I wouldn’t exactly call him a preacher but more of a cult leader. R-Truth can have the preacher gimmick of a man in a organized religion., being (like someone said below) hypocritical.
