Ric Flair Has Heat With WWE Over Podcast Comment

Ric Flair is no longer doing podcasts because he got heat with WWE for recent comments about how Finn Balor will never main event a Wrestlemania because of his size. Flair got a lot of heat for that comment and he doesn’t want to say anything that will jeopardize his daughter Charlotte’s position in the company.

While we haven’t seen much of Ric on TV, he was spotted during WrestleMania weekending at the Hall of Fame and was present with Charlotte when a golden statue of him was revealed.

Well… If we look back, we can see a little guy named Daniel Bryan main eventing Wrestlemania. And to be honest, this is the reason why we have guys like Finn Balor now. Although I agree with Flair, a man of his size should never main event Wrestlemania because shouldn’t be wwe champion (if you want some reality, it makes no sense to me). But times changed and the same Balor was the first Universal Champions so… Who knows! Maybe we have Reigns vs Lesnar at Summerslam and that little guy Balor wins the Rumble next year, and we’ll have The Big Dog vs The Demon at WM.

Flair was high, drunk or whatever. Same podcast he even said Ambrose/Ziggler is a better match and bigger draw than Balor/Rollins. By that comment alone he should be shot.

Honestly, I don’t think either pairing works unless one guy is fully heel. IMO, that was their biggest mistake when Ambrose/Ziggler feuded last year is that both had to try to stay sort-of face and yet still be antagonistic to each other.

both should retire, leave, or just stay away. Dolph had his moment a few years back, got injured, then buried himself. He’s done. Ambrose has no business in a WWE ring or near any high profile feud/titles.

I guess things like this really kind of illustrate how much WWE has changed. If he’d said that 6-7 years ago, WWE’s reaction would have been to throw up its hands and go… “Well, yeah. Sure.” Or at least they wouldn’t have been pissed at him.

Although I wonder if their being upset at his comments is a sign that WWE’s planning to give Balor another push in the near future and doesn’t want anybody undercutting him at the moment… we’ll see.

I do worry about how much ‘room’ there is for some guys to coexist on RAW, though. Things got crowded in a hurry. Rollins, Balor, and Zayn all need room to carve out – but if you send one to Smackdown, there’s Orton, now you’ve got Shinsuke over there (which is a very good thing) as well as Dillinger (who needs to be in the IC title picture immediately if you ask me.) I suppose it’s not a bad problem to have but because of the brevity of Balor’s initial run you’ve got to still push him like he’s a new star. You can’t assume you can book him like crap and that he won’t be affected. The same, though, is true for Nakamura and Dillinger.

He’s getting heat now for the comments he made about Balor a couple of months ago?

The statue of Flair isn’t golden. It’s bronze, which is an alloy of copper and zinc.
