Roman Reigns Claims That He Suffered An Injury While Wrestling Brock Lesnar At WrestleMania 31

WWE Live Event
Roman Reigns spoke with St. Louis Post-Dispatch to promote a WWE live event that took place last weekend at the Scottrade Center. During the interview, Reigns claimed that he was injured in his match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31.

“Right off the get-go, I popped him and he scudded me up and ran me into the corner. I think right there I felt a rib shoot out of place. It was a struggle ever since that. From the get-go, I was hurt. He was throwing me around. That’s his thing. But I was throwing bombs at the end. He did his thing, and I did mine. I think you saw a couple of juggernauts go at it. We didn’t get the finish we had hoped, but it was a hell of a fight — the best fight I’ve ever been in.”

Wtf is he talking about ? Dude you looked horrible in that match injury or not. This guy is delusional

    • Fat Owens Fat

if you get off the Hatewagon you would acknowledge the fact that it was a brutal fight with both guys legit landing a couple of blows to each other. Even those that tuned in to watch him get a beating of his lifetime were left asking if it was a legit shoot fight.

      • Rizzy

It was great storytelling but the match was still crap. Reigns literally did Spears and Superman punches. That’s why the match was so short at roughly 15 min.

        • Fat Owens Fat

Actually the match was made short because the Rock and Ronda segment went longer than they wanted to. They were waiting for the sun to set for Taker’s entrance to be perfect and that meant the final match had to be improvised.

          • Joseph Lisnow

that segment was better than the main event, outside of the ending.

          • Fat Owens Fat

sure Lisnow, because a 3 min cameo from your fav superstar somehow supersedes a 15 minute brutality in the ring. Hmm can’t really argue with that.

          • Joseph Lisnow

favorite wrestler is actually Shawn Michaels.

          • Rizzy

They could’ve gone longer if they wanted to, it’s Vince’s network. The match was short because up until that point Roman didn’t really have long matches.

          • Fat Owens Fat

umm i’m pretty sure the Fastlane match went 25 minutes

          • Rizzy

Yeah you’re right I forgot about that match. I think that was his first singles main event but I believe it was around 15-20 like his match with Brock.

      • YoMommasMan

Does it kill you when people don’t like Reigns ? I don’t get it with you dude. I personally just don’t think he has what it takes to be on an elite level. I always hear others say he’s “progressing” but where ? He’s been around for almost 5 years and at this point he should be able to develope his in-ring ability and not character development. It’s not like he has the greatest charisma and his subpar mic skills make for horrible promos. Honestly can you say he’s better than Rollins,Cesaro,Ziggler, Owens,Samoa Joe,Finn Baylor ??? At this point his best bet is to turn heel, and reinvent his character with new gear, theme song, and finisher. Let him be the one to beat Cena and do an injury angle where Cena can be wrote off and let him ride into Royal Rumble and trust me he’d be top tier.

        • Fat Owens Fat

Sure. If you personally don’t think so you can say it yourself. Just don’t whine on the Raw results every week on how everyone who thinks Reigns is improving are “idiots”. The guy has been in several hard hitting matches week after week after wrestling Bryan before Mania. Infact he’s even got several “This is awesome” and “Holy s—” chants on random Raws when he’s working singles matches.
Just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean others don’t have to. Its okay to have personal opinions, just don’t call others stupid for disagreeing with you because that makes you no different from school going kids arguing on which superhero is the best. Coming to Rollins,Cesaro,Ziggler, Owens,Samoa Joe,Finn Baylor, exactly what category do these guys excel in? Is it the ring work? is it having flashy movesets? Is it doing some top rope lucha style matches? Is it cutting some promos? Is it telling a storyline? because none of these men excel at everything at once. Rollins botches his promos and you pretend like he never did but you happily mock somebody trying to deliver his promos even though he’s forcibly handed the silly scripts, Joe injures his opponents and you make excuses for him, Goldberg injures Bret and suddenly its cool to vilify him for eternity. Cena’s FU is ridiculed yet Owen’s powerbomb is the shizz even though he technically does nothing since the opponent hops onto his shoulders and falls back all by themselves. Reigns steals the spear but its okay when Ziggler uses the SCM or Seth uses the Pedigree. See where i’m getting at? Its the hypocrisy that’s prevalent in the Indy fanboys that i’m trying to point out over here every week. What has Owens done in the ring that Umaga hasn’t when he was around? Where was the same level of fanboyism when that Samoan Bulldozer was running around the ring like a cruiserweight doing all the flashy moves a guy his size isn’t supposed to do? And if flashy moves in the ring is all that mattered, why do the Lucha Dragons, the Mexicools and all others between their timelines considered boring?

Again this is Edge and Y2J, two of the biggest men of the 90s and 2000s who are validating the match. I think their description of the match at Mania holds more water than anybody on the internet.

Please feel free to copy and paste ANY comment where I referred to anyone as an idiot because I never have. I can remember a few months back when you were DanielBryantalwayshurt or whatever you once called yourself and we had this same problem ! Look everyone is entitled to an opinion and I’ll respect yours as long as you respect mines. Stop assuming everyone is an Indy smark I’ve never watched ROH or ANY indy promotion ! I base my comments off of my 20+ years of watching WWE and as I stated before he just doesn’t cut it for me with his current gimmick. On top of that I gave an suggestion that I thought could catapult his career to new heights but I guess you didn’t read that smh
