Ryback Says He Wants To End The Undertaker’s Undefeated Streak and Take On Goldberg

Two things Ryback has in mind is ending The Undertaker’s famed undefeated streak at WrestleMania and taking on former World Heavyweight Champion Goldberg.

Speaking to TribLIVE (to promote Monday’s Raw at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), the WWE Superstar considers it a “good thing” that the topic of a showdown with Goldberg is constantly discussed by wrestling fans.

“For me, I grew up watching the guy. He came in an era and dominated. I still remember to this day being in high school and him taking on Hogan. It was during my summer baseball tournament in Mesa, Ariz. All the guys went out and I stayed back. ‘Ah, I gotta stay back because I got stuff to do.’ I stayed in my hotel room to watch Nitro and watched Goldberg take on Hogan when he defeated him for the world heavyweight championship in Atlanta. The reaction that man got out of all those people, it takes a special person to do that,” said Ryback.

“I’d love to take on Bill Goldberg. I think it’s a match that’s going to make me a lot of money. It’s going to make him a lot of money. It’s a match the WWE Universe want to see. I said recently that if people keep chanting his name at me, they’re going to make me a ton of money. WWE’s going to want to bring in Bill Goldberg to face Ryback.”

Despite his interest in facing Goldberg, Ryback does not consider it his “dream match.” Rather, it is facing The Undertaker at WrestleMania and ending the streak.

“No, one of my main goals is ending The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak. It’s something everyone has their opinion on. Some people say it’s something that should never end. I say why not? I say I’m good enough to end it, and I’m very confident in myself. I know there are a lot of people that will say otherwise, but I could care less what they say. I’m the one who wakes up every day and knows how hard I’ve worked for this. It’s something, if I don’t believe I can do it, nobody else is going to believe it,” said the former Skip Sheffield.

“I talked to him (The Undertaker) last year at WrestleMania. He made a comment to me. We were down by the ring somewhere and he said ‘I hear you’re doing some interviews and saying you want The Undertaker.’ I said ‘You’re damn right I do.’ That’s all it was. Whether it happens this year or the year after, I don’t know.

“Whatever the WWE asks of me, I will do because they are my employer. I give them everything I have because I have a love and passion for this and there is no ego involved. The Undertaker is definitely another one for WrestleMania. There is no bigger for me. The streak has become its own attraction. If that’s a possibility, I’m there.”

Ryback also reveals what he would be doing if he wasn’t wrestling, his reaction to discovering he would be working alongside Paul Heyman, and what he plans to do to become WWE’s premiere Superstar. The full interview is available here.

    Goldberg won’t job to Ryback that’s a gimme…

  • Joseph Douglas

Ryback is very delusional. He is good enough to end the streak? The WWE universe wants to see against Goldberg? I don’t.

  • Maddox

It starts with an interview.. please let Lesnar fight Taker instead of Ryback

  • Padres4life

Ryback sucks. If this guy ever took cena’s place, wrestling would get worse. He’s awful

    • YM5

why does he suck? he hasn’t even been given an opportunity to show his mic work and his ring work has never been less than solid why don’t you like him? because he’s 300 pounds? so original

      • The_Fearless_Diva

        Exactly

  • CM Punk BITW

I’ve never liked Ryback since the beginning.

    • YM5

why? because he’s big? your prejudice is the same nature of the rest of the IWC

      • Rotnerd

        you just went full retard

        • YM5

why because I choose not to be a zombie and agree with everybody else’s “HES A BIG GUY, HE SUCKS!!” mentality? I can respect anybody’s capabilities regardless of size and Ryback can go, plain and simple

The Undertaker’s steak is overrated. I tried his “famous” steak at a bbq at his house one time, and I actually found it to be a little tough, and definitely could have used some more seasoning. He also was brushing JR’s bbq sauce on it, which I didn’t find particularly good either (it tasted a lot like HP Sauce). Anyways, for years I’ve had to listen to people talk on and on about The Undertaker’s steak, and I was pretty disappointed when I finally got to try it. Thankfully, the roasted potatoes were really good, and there were plenty of cool wrestlers to chat with at his backyard bbq. And to tell you the truth, several of them (Brian Kendrick, Paul London, Jimmy Wang Yang, and William Regal) agreed that you can get a better steak at Ponderosa.

Not sure where you got steak from.

Rybitch is fuckin the worst piece of untalented shitt of all time!!! He sucks. He cant talk, he cant wrestle. No one deserves to beat Taker

  • Nick Turner

I personally think no one should end Takers streak. I think it is just one of those things that doesn’t need to be broken. Just facing the Undertaker is enough of a boost to give the guy a boost. I definitely do not believe Ryback should be the guy. The person who beat the deadman would have to be ready to be the next huge guy 8n the business. Nothing against Ryback but he is not at a level that should obtain that accolade. But he is right that Goldberg vs Ryback would make money. I was never a Goldberg fan but the people that are would pay to see him face someone like Ryback. But I don’t think Bill would be willing to lose and I dont think WWE wants Ryback to look weak. Ryback is better than he was and I think a series of matches with Punk will make him even better. He has a future in the business and only time will tell how high he can climb but my personal opinion is that he is quite on the level he likes to think he’s at right now. But this is professional wrestling so you can’t ever say never.

Ryback getting a shot at the streak is like santino winning both world titles….its not gonna happen.

  • Rotnerd

A lot of greats face the Undertaker and he thinks he should end it, boy you high…
