Two Very Bad Segments from This Week’s RAW, Bad Sign for Ryback and More

– As noted before, the October 22nd episode of WWE RAW drew a 2.48 cable rating with 3.55 million viewers – just very bad numbers for WWE all around.

In the segment breakdown, Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara vs. Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow opened with a 2.46 quarter rating, which is a very weak opener. Kofi Kingston vs. Michael McGillicutty lost 41,000 viewers while John Cena’s promo and an appearance by CM Punk and Paul Heyman gained 530,000 viewers. Justin Gabriel vs. Antonio Cesaro in the rematch from a week earlier lost 372,000 viewers.

The high point of this week’s RAW came in the segment with Vince McMahon, AJ Lee, Paul Heyman and Vickie Guerrero. That segment gained 529,000 viewers for a 2.91 quarter rating. This beat out the Cena segment that gained 530,000 viewers. The Miz vs. Ryback and the backstage brawl with Layla, Eve Torres and Kaitlyn lost 613,000 viewers – not a good sign for Ryback right now.

Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler lost 253,000 viewers. That match was one of the most talked about in recent weeks and finished with a 2.31 quarter rating – the lowest for a non-holiday RAW segment in 15 years, although this record was broken later in the night.

The game show segment with Team Hell No and Kane vs. Big Show gained 62,000 viewers in the 10pm timeslot. John Cena confronting Vince McMahon and Zack Ryder vs. Alberto Del Rio gained 26,000 viewers. The lowest quarter-rating going back 15 years then happened as the Dolph Ziggler segment, a Ryback video and the Lumberjacks entrances lost 319,000 viewers for a 2.15 quarter.

The Lumberjacks main event with CM Punk vs. Sheamus gained 1,058,000 viewers for a 2.89 quarter rating.

It just goes to show ratings mean nothing. Since people don’t know when their favourite stars are on, they don’t know when to tune in or out. Like if people knew when Ziggler vs Bryan was gonna happen, alot of wrestling fans would have tuned in. Ratinhe mean diddly squat.

  • me

Ratings dont* not Ratinhe. Looks like I had a stroke on that last comment. Haha

The sooner some idiots on this site realize that the IWC and the WWE audience are two different entities, the better. The over-hyped and over-rated Dolph Ziggler is a ratings killer. His cock suckers can cry all they wan’t but the idiot is not gonna be getting a push. His matches and segments always lose hundred of viewers on Raw and that is what is used to gauge how over a wrestler is. This week’s record-low has to be the final straw for the man with zigzag talent. As a matter of fact, this Sunday he is gonna unsuccessfully cash in his MitB contract and from then on he’ll be jobbing. And I am gonna love seeing that on my TV.

You seem like such a lovely person -_-

  • rob

Lisa would you please just shut your fucking stupid cunt mouth?

  • bad news for ryback? no. People tuned out when the divas were on tv because no one gives a damn about the divas.

  • Lisa

Rob, go fuck yourself. I don’t give a damn what you think. You are a useless piece of shit.

  • Cornbread

    @ Lisa

Can’t quite hear you…. Let me move my dick.

  • The_Shaman

Keep deluding yourself becauase TNA get shit all time for their weak ratings but when WWE get shit rating the fanboys will defend them tooth and nail, PATHETIC

  • LancePower

Ha! Ryback lost 613,000 viewers! suck on that Ryback fans!

  • Real Kosher

hey lance power you dumb fuck….they lumped ryback in with the divas….who always lose hundreds of thousands of viewers

  • Chelsii.

The WWE has changed a lot in the last 10 years audience wise (And YES it is to do with PG). Most of the WWE fans are not wrestling fans… they’re face fans, casual fans or Cena fans and therefore don’t want to watch anything that doesn’t appeal to them. Like real wrestling, they hate wrestling… they want clowns with big red noses talking silly shit.

People complain of RAW always opening with a segment, yet when a match opens the show, it’s a weak rating. I do believe that the IWC and the general population are two different entities. Surely if it was made up of internet fans only, Bryan and Ziggler would’ve been a super strong gain. It just shows that the general population is more numerous than the internet wrestling community. Always has been, likely always will be.

By the way, Ziggler and Bryan was awesome.

i really hope these ratings show people that the ‘casuals’ don’t give a fuck about ‘great wrestling matches’ like the match Bryan vs Ziggler, they only care about big stars and matches where they can cheer on for their favorites. Which is why WWE can’t push ‘wrestlers’ only, the ‘Superstar’ needs to be a mix of good wrester, good mic-worker, charisma, main event factor, etc. Though im not blaming Bryan/Ziggler, 3 hours is the reason for the ratings.

Also i honestly don’t get why people say ‘Punk’ can’t draw because of this, who the champion is barely decides how many people watch the show, the product itself decides how many people watch the show. Miz’s title reign was getting high raw ratings because of Rock’s return, is that good enough reason to push Miz? No, the champion has little do with the ratings. For the record i think 3 hours is obviously the reason for this steep downfall in ratings.

Lmao more drama on this site then Vickie n cena or Dixie n sting

  • Heisenberg

Wwe will come out with something. I wish. Compete against MNF. honestly do I care about the ratings? Hell no! I just want to be entertained. Enjoy the show people and stop whining. Your rants are meaningless anyways.

  • TonyT

I’ll say this as a TNA fan first, over WWE….

But DAMN….TNA would LOVE to see a 2.48 rating with 3.55 million viewers! Hell, they’d think they’d have a shot of going head to head on Monday AND Friday nights with the WWE….IFFFF….they could get that type of rating for just ONE week.

  • Z…..

I’ve said it for years. People clearly dont care about wrestling. If they did, that ziggler/danielson match would have gained huge. also, I think that part of it is that a lot of the IWC have stopped watching wwe for the same reasons that I have. Therefore, you have most of their viewers being the type of fans that we’ve talked about. All they care about is Cena, other faces, or stupidity. Many of them are kids now so I guess that makes sense. Personally, I think that if they want to have 3 hours and be pg, then they should have all of the pg crap before 10:00, and have all of their best stuff happen in the last hour. If parents want to complain that their kids wont see enough of the important angles now, then ask them why their kid is staying up until 11
