Upcoming Plans for Xavier Woods, Will WWE Hire Matt Morgan?, More

– NXT star Xavier Woods is scheduled to become a regular on WWE TV soon. WWE dropped the Big Show petition angle he was involved in so they’re waiting for a new storyline reason to have Woods debut. As noted before, WWE sees Woods as a great PR representative for the company because of his educational background.

– When Matt Morgan’s name was brought up to Triple H about being hired, Triple H’s response is that they are spending millions of dollars on the new Performance Center so their focus is on developing younger guys on their own to bring in as opposed to experienced older guys. Obviously if it was a bigger name there could be an exception made, but that is WWE’s mentality in most cases going forward.

Millions of dollars to develop newer and younger talent? But the door is left open for Hogan? Cmon…I’m a huge HHH fan, but Morgan is a beast! I think with the right timing and a solid build up, he could be at the top for a very long time.

Only problem is, a solid build-up (not the accelerated type of buildup that fans often call bullshit on like what they tried to do with ADR and Ryback) takes about 2-3 years or so, and that’s if a guy gets over. Matt Morgan’s already 37. The only two guys I can think off that really took off that late in life were Batista and Mark Henry (who, to be fair, might have had a much different-looking overall career if he only could have stayed healthy). Even if his career somehow finds a second wind, you’re likely to get 5 years of him at best – which doesn’t make sense when you could give the same build to a similarly-sized, similarly talented big guy in his late 20s or early 30s and have him around for a decade or more.

Matt Morgan is terrible be serious. He would be nothing more than a bodyguard, he is not good on the mic and over 7 years he has never had a great match. He is the definition of a B+ player in an A+ body

  • B-Ped

Matt Morgan is also 37, which in this business, is old. How many years could you really get out of this guy? I agree with Ya Boy J Black, he’s the definition of a B+ player in an A+ body.

And, to be fair, there’s often a place for those sorts of guys, especially now that Paul Heyman’s in the fold (I believe Heyman managed MM before?) But WWE also has its fair share of those types of guys already in developmental. Most of them are 10 years younger and haven’t hit the peak of their overall skill yet. Why hog a spot on a guy that’s already in decline?

All valid points thanks everyone. Never really looked at it from those angles. Just thought it would be good to get another bigger name player in there to help develop the younger talent that’s already on the main roster. There are some talented younger guys already on the main roster that could carry him in some matches which would help themselves along the way. Kinda like what Brock is doing but more on a full time basis. And let’s face it, he would do much better with heyman than what ryback has produced as of late. Thanks again guys.

What younger talent is Brock Lesnar helping? Cena? Triple H? CM Punk?

      • Joe

I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make it seem as though I was referring to younger talent. I meant talent In general.

        • DexDude

That makes more sense then.. although I don’t think Cena, Punk or HHH need any help lol. But I understand what you were saying.
