Update On Finn Balor’s Injury Due To Botched Buckle Bomb Bump (Videos)

The surgery on Finn Balor’s injured shoulder was a success. Dr. Jeffrey Dugas gave the following update on Finn’s condition last night:

“Finn’s injury was pretty severe, more severe than normal. A really high energy injury, it did more damage than a standard shoulder dislocation where you simply tear the labrum. The prognosis is excellent, however. We were able to fix it all and put it back where it came from. I’m anticipating him getting back at full speed.”

The shoulder dislocation took place at Summerslam during the inaugural Universal Championship match with Seth Rollins. Here is a video that shows how the injury occurred:

The move is called a Buckle Bomb and many fans are now voicing the opinion that it should be banned from use. That would be another one of Rollins’ moves banned. The Curb Stomp was also taken out of his arsenal not long ago because Vince McMahon thought it looked too violent for kids. Because chair shots, Pedigrees, DDTs, etc. are all fine for kids, but a Curb Stomp? No sirry Bob. This world is far too quick to react emotionally and rush to prohibition whenever there is an accident or an offense.

Just like if people get their feelings hurt and want to ban certain types of speech, it’s a slippery slope. If we give in to banning one thing, then we admit that a case can be made for everything in the same wheel house. Which in the cases of speech and wrestling, would mean no voices and no moves. And I quite like having lots of both.

Not to mention Balor bumped that Buckle Bomb incorrectly by putting his arm out. And so he got hurt… It is WRESTLING, right? Even Ballet dancers break their toes. We don’t say no more twirls, no more tutus and no more Tchaikovsky. Because life be life. So live it up. And as the pro wrestling mantra goes, “Work Strong”.

Here is Balor talking about his injury and having to give up the WWE Universal Title:
