Update on Mickie James and TNA, Impact Back to Orlando?, More

– As noted, TNA is considering taking Impact Wrestling tapings back to a singular location and are currently discussing several locations. The most notable location discussed internally is Orlando, Florida.

– Despite her contract expiring on Monday, Mickie James and TNA are still in negotiations.

– There’s a lot of talk that TNA will be running a major arena in the New York City metropolitan area soon. Madison Square Garden wouldn’t be a possibility but they could run in the Barclays Center, the IZOD Center or the Nassau Coliseum.

They should try the IZOD center. That’s where the famous crowd from the RAW after WrestleMania was at, maybe TNA will have some luck there.

or head back to nashville to the asylum

  • Devon

TNA could never sell out MSG.

    • Abudadein

I saw TNA in London, Ontario’s Budweiser Gardens, and I think there were less than 400 people there. Velvet Sky wrestled though, so it was worth the drive!

    • stevewiser

New York is a pretty hot market for wrestling and MSG isn’t a very big venue. I’d say they’d have a better chance selling out MSG than most other stadiums but with that said MSG is Vince’s house and nobody will ever run a show there unless WWE goes out of business.

      • Devon

TNA cant even get 500 people at a live event. Let alone 19,000 at MSG.

        • Eric Chism

TNA held an Impact at place called Broadbent Arena in Louisville, KY. It holds about 5,200. I saw WWE in that building in July 2012. They had a legit sellout. TNA’s Impact drew 3,500 in that building. Even though MSG is not the biggest place, it is still bigger than TNA can come close to filling. MSG probably holds 15, or 20,000. TNA Impact can’t even draw 1/3 that.

          • Devon

MSG holds 19,000. And Broadbent holds 6,600

          • Eric Chism

Which makes Impact drawing 3,500 at Broadbent even worse. That is 53% full. The point being TNA cannot sellout a smaller building like that. No way could they draw at MSG. MSG would look completely empty. They can hide poor attendance in Broadbent, but not in MSG .

          • stevewiser

Dude, think logically for a second….just a second. Don’t you think that if a city has more people to selll tickets to, it will probably be easier to sell tickets? Now do you think NYC might just have a few more wrestling fans in it than some tiny sh¡t stain in Kentucky. Again, NYC is one of the most densely populated cities in the world. They might not sell a stadium out there but it would easily be one of the biggest shows they’ve ever had in North America regardless of the quality the product. Using how they do in kentucky to predict how they will do in NYC is asinine, you should feel kinda dumb for that lol.

          • Eric Chism

Actually I don’t. Since back when there were territories, KY has been a hot place for wrestling. Lou used to be a part of Jerry Lawler’s territory. Lou always draws a good crowd. Be it live events or TV’s.MSG would look empty. TNA would end up giving away thousands of tickets just to make it look like they have a good crowd. TNA is not going to MSG. Maybe the smaller annex that is part of MSG. Like back where they had the very first Raw, but not MSG. Not 19,000. 19,000 is the equivalent of 4 or 5 Impact crowds.

          • stevewizer

Wow. Again nobody said they could sell it out. You guys are arguing with yourselves. They’d do fine though. You don’t have to sell out a building to make a profit. Either way comparing Kentucky to NYC is hilarious, thanks for the good laugh!

          • Eric Chism

I am comparing it for wrestling. Not everything else. Hell, there is a whole lot less to do in KY. So, there are times when wrestling is it. I am not saying they have to sell it out to make it profitable, but think about this. How much does it cost to have an event in MSG. A hell of a lot more than any place in Lou, KY. Do you think MSG doesn’t take their fee upfront? Of course they do. TNA probably couldn’t even draw enough to pay the arena fee. There is a lot of competition for a spot in MSG. Secondly, think about what 3,000 people in MSG would look like on TV. There is no way they could even block it off to look like there are a lot of people in there. WWE has to do that from time to time. Having 3/4 of the building empty would look pathetic on TV.

          • Devon

That is exactly what I said

        • stevewiser

I didn’t say they could smart guy. I said they’d have a better chance than at most other venues. Read what I write before you respond and look stupid. But at any rate New York is a different beast, it’s one of the most densely populated cities in the world. There’s a HUGE difference between not being able to fill some venue in bum fu€k Alabama or wherever they hold their tapings usually and NYC. I mean even ROH can sell out the Hammerstein ballroom there when usually they barely fill up armory halls with more than a couple hundred fans. TNA might not be able to sell it out but they would definitely have a good showing. And for the record TNA does sell out stadiums in England. The argument is irrelevant anyway because like I said MSG is Vince’s house.

TNA will do fine in NYC though. Don’t they do pretty good size crowds in some baseball stadium in NY for a house show every year?

the should try Atlanta Geogia home of WCW and maybe start talking to Ted Turner

  • Mrs. Ambrose

Honestly she needs to comeback to the WWE.

    • stevewiser

Why would WWE bring back somebody they fired? She’s not like Trish or Lita who went out on their own terms, they fired her. She’s not famous, she’s starting to show her age, and they’ve made it painfully obvious she doesn’t fit the mold of what WWE wants in their divas so why would they want her back?

Mickey James has always been one of my favorite women’s wrestlers but she has next to no market value at this point.

      • Mrs. Ambrose

I don’t think that she is showing her age at all. And she is still popular. Maybe the WWE will sign her back.

        • stevewiser

Well I wouldn’t hold my breath lol. I guess WWE just fires people they actually want working for them, makes sense. If I wanted somebody working for me I would definitely fire them and then hire them back when they were considerably older, that’s a great business philosophy.

  • Z….

TNA might be better off being exclusively in the UK. They get bigger numbers than WWE does there and they seem to get really good crowds whenever they go there.
