Update on Richards & Edwards to WWE, Axel Comments on His Injury

– WWE Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel tweeted the following about reports of him blowing out his hips:

“For the record: I DID NOT BLOW OUT MY HIPS!!! Where does this info come from? I’m gonna be fine! #BetterThanPerfect”

After Axel was pulled from the Hell In a Cell pre-show, it was reported that Axel “blew out his hips” on RAW in a freak accident. It was later reported that Axel suffered a hip flexor injury. Axel noted that he will be on WWE’s upcoming tour of Europe.

– Wrestling Observer Editor Dave Meltzer wrote the following on the Observer message board this weekend about WWE potentially signing Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards:

“They are in play. It is a very unique situation that is still being played out. The most I can say is the people you would expect not to want them don’t, and the people you would expect to want them do. I’ve continually emphasized that they neither have been turned down, nor signed to a deal. That hadn’t changed as of yesterday.”

    Sweet, I’m glad Joe’s ok.

    • tt2000

Is he your childhood friend? No? Then his name is Curtis, not Joe.

      • Jacob’s Verbal Fist

I’m not referring to his wrestling character, I’m referring to him as a human being and I’m glad he’s not hurt.

        • http://WWW.WrestleNewZ.com/ Bork Lazer Living Legend

Please use his in ring name. I hate when people use wrestlers real names.

          • jcice13

do you call charlie sheen charlie harper? or jon cryer alan harper??

          • Jacob’s Verbal Fist

When he was called Michael Mcgil….whataver, I always called him Joe Hennig in protest to the worst ring name in history. I knew him as Joe Hennig before anything else, so that’s the difference.

          • jcice13

the difference is simple..I wasn’t talking to you was I? why not read the name to which my comment was directed

          • tt2000

What an idiot. Everybody calls Charlie Sheen, CHARLIE SHEEN, not Carlos Estevez.

Owned by your own logic. Dumbass.

        • tt2000

CM Punk is a human being, Ryback is a human being. Curtis Axel is a human being. Don’t be an asshole. Fans shouldn’t call wrestlers by their real names. Anyone who’s ever done anything in wrestling would tell you the same.

          • Jacob’s Verbal Fist

There’s only one person being an asshole here, and it certainly isnt me.

          • YM5

so even though I watched Bryan Danielson for 10 years before he was “Daniel Bryan” am I supposed to stop calling him Danielson as I always have? Joe Hennig went by Joe Hennig long before he went by Curtis Axel, it could be a matter of retainance

on an unrelated note, unless you came up together in the business everybody calls eachother by the name they had when they first met so for the most part anybody who was added to the main roster between 2002 and 2007 (never worked with perfect/was out of developmental when Joe got there) still calls him McGillicutty

          • tt2000

Yes you should. You should call people by the name they have, not by the name you’re most confortable with. Curtis Axel is his name now, not Michael, not Joe. You’re a fan so that’s the name you should call him. If you don’t you’re just as bad as those assholes who chant Husky Harris and Albert.

          • YM5

no going to the show and being a d*ck and calling someone by the name you know them as isn’t the same thing, and you don’t make the f*cking wrestling rules we can call them whatever we want. and I’m not a fan I’ve known Bryan since 2003 so I’ll continue to call him Danielson

          • tt2000

I don’t make wrestling rules, wrestlers do, and that’s exactly how they deal with situations like this one. The correct thing to do is to call them by their current name or in case they’re retired, their most famous persona. That’s how it works, end of discussion. If you want to be a smartass, go ahead, it’s your choice.

          • YM5

you sound like an idiot, you’ve never been in a locker room, you’ve never spoken to a wrestler, you know nothing about the conduct they adhere to, stop trying to police wrestling fans with your fauxthority you don’t know what you’re talking about

          • tt2000

Listen to wrestler’s podcasts and you’ll eventually learn everything there is to know about wrestling etiquette. Keep denying it if you want but that’s simply how it is.

          • YM5

in case you missed it the first time “I’M NOT A FAN” you listen to wrestler’s podcasts I talk to them in person regularly, only old dipshits believe in what you’re talking about. I’ve been a finishing coach for 7 years and I’ve been active for 12 I know the business you’re not schooling me, if you see Joe Hennig in public call him Joe I promise you he will not give two halves of a whole f*ck you know why? ITS HIS F*CKING NAME!! everybody knows that, now for guys like Taker or Triple H or Shawn Michaels yeah you’re an ass if you walk up and say “hey Mark/Paul/Mike” but they won’t care if you do, its beyond trivial

  • xXwindsofchangeXx

Okay, hip flexor, that’s not so bad… maybe it’s the 12-year-old in me, but I can’t help but snicker a little bit when I hear “blow out my hips”… maybe because I’ve never heard that one before and it sounds weird.
