WWE Superstars Speak Out on Helping Daniel Bryan

WWE published a storyline article with WWE Superstars discussing coming to the aid of Daniel Bryan on Raw this past Monday night. Here are a few comments from the talents:

Zack Ryder: “I was sick and tired of standing on that stage week in and week out just watching Daniel Bryan get abused. It just wasn’t fair. I knew that one day that could be me in there. That could have been Kofi. That could have been Ziggler. That could have been any one of us. So we decided enough was enough. We had to make a change. I’m sure there are going to be repercussions.”

R-Truth: “I don’t know if it was just a matter of being sick and tired of being sick and tired. Or, it was just being part of what should be right. I don’t know if that was the right decision to make or not. I just did what I thought was right. I thought about the repercussions, but I just did it. I’m still surprised at my actions myself. It is what it is.”

Darren Young: “I have no problem taking a stand for what’s right. And on Monday Night Raw, we did just that.”

Titus O’Neil: “It was an uncomfortable situation here at work, and we’re not ones to sit around and be uncomfortable about anything. For every risk there is a reward. The reward was that people went home happy. And that’s our job. Of course we’ll have to deal with some things internally, but that’s the risk that we’re willing to take to make sure that we’re doing our jobs at the end of the day.”

When is the walk-out going to happen? So they did it to babyface HHH just because Miz and R-Truth “wreaked havoc” (PG havoc, mind you), and they did it when HHH and Steph were tyrants back in early 2000, but somehow they wouldn’t do it now, even though it worked EVERY TIME in the past?

Random thought, and I know the IWC is kind of down on Ryder right now, but if the WWE isn’t going to put the WHC back on Ziggler where it belongs, it would be cool to see him and Ryder team up and go after the tag straps. Better than Dolph jobbing in meaningless matches that progress nothing, and it gives Ryder a chance to prove that he’s worth keeping on the roster. Plus, Zack and Dolph have great chemistry. The Shield wont keep those belts forever, though they could get some legs out of it if they had Dean drop the US title and pulled out the old Freebird Rule. But a tag division built around the Usos, PTP, Zigs/Ryder, with the heel side being balanced out by the Wyatts, Real Americans (tho Cesaro deserves so much more than carrying Jack Swagger) and the probably-heel Matadores, we could keep the energy going in this tag division that’s had a serious revival since Hell No.

Also, they need to start letting those titles change hands a bit more frequently when the Shield does drop them. I hope they don’t just put them on the Wyatts and have them carry them for six months. Remember back in 2000? From the Summer of 99 to 2001, the Outlaws, Kane and X-Pac, Taker and Show, Rock and Sock, Edge and Christian, The Hardys, the Dudleys, Too Cool, the APA, Right to Censor, Road Dogg and X-Pac, Austin and HHH, Kane and Taker and probably even a few more teams all had the straps– almost all of those teams had multiple runs, and heel E&C would win and lose them all the time without it affecting their status in the slightest. I know they’re trying to get the tag division over, and they probably think the way to do it is by establishing good, dominant champions, but the belts have been on like 2 teams in the past year, and that just gets boring. This is the one division where frequent title changes is actually a plus, as long as it’s done right and the angles are exciting.
