WWE Wants Alberto Del Rio Back

WWE
There’s been chatter on WWE’s end of bringing about Alberto Del Rio, who now wrestles as El Patron. According to PWInsider Elite, WWE is looking for someone to represent the Hispanic audience.

The WWE has been trying to find a singles star for the Hispanic audience since Rey Mysterio left.

The odds of Del Rio returning to the WWE could be slim. He’s been successful outside of WWE and with Lucha Underground confirming a second season, Del Rio has steady work. The former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion left the company after a racial issue with a social media employee. He’s been critical of the WWE since his release.

“who know wrestles as El Patron”

    “with aa social media” 😀

    • Joseph Lisnow

I was in the middle of editing it. You’re quick. Appreciate you pointing it out.

      • Fat Owens Fat

well at least you edit, unlike Ravens.

        • Michael King

Lol Ravens be like meh… They’ll understand what I’m trying to say

        • Zack

I like Joseph Lisnow because he interacts with the patrons of the website. He gives feedback and answers questions amongst commenters. And like here, he owns up to a little mistake and fixes it, no big deal. It’s pretty admirable.

          • will

            Yep. Him and Dorothy

          • Joseph Lisnow

            thank you. much appreciation.

          • Joseph Lisnow

            Dorathy is a great writer.

      • YoMommasMan

Hey Joe their are a few guys in the comment section who really have some very insightful comments it would be nice if you guys could give us a platform I mean it can’t be worse than a copy/paste from BR we get from a “certain” writer for this site.

        • Joseph Lisnow

not up to me, but we’ll see. all i can say.

  • Fat Owens Fat

I always liked this guy, mostly as a heel. People hated him and it pretty much made for good tv before he got put into nonsensical feuds. The WWE dropped the ball with his heel champ persona since he’s a solid worker too and could’ve put on good matches if he was given some proper feuds and not made to languish in the midcard for life segments.

Him and Ricardo should’ve stayed put longer.

  • Matt G

Why….the fans overall never cared for him…solid in ring…bland everywhere else

    • Michael King

      Definitely not true

      • Matt G

He was never over….not taking shots at him he just wasnt over….his crowd reactions face or heel were not what they should’ve been for a main eventer

        • Michael King

He was over it was just when he turned face is what fucked him up

          • Matt G

I can agree with that….it was a forced turn

  • Michael King

I doubt Del Rio coming back

    • Michael King

Pretty sure he’s happy being in Lucha Underground

      • Zack

“Excuse me, will Alberto Del Rio come back to WWE?”

        “Noooo……nooooo……”

        • YoMommasMan

          Noooo……nooooo

  • Bite Me You Loser

WWE dropped the ball by allowing their social media nerd to insult the Mexican people without more then a slap on the wrist. Del Rio stood up and they punished him for slapping him. Be A Star indeed huh WWE?

    • NotU

Well, slapping someone is crossing the line, isn’t it? Physical violence is the answer?

      • Bite Me You Loser

Del Rio did wrong with getting physical, but once again he was punished and not the social media personnel.

        • NotU

The guy got assaulted for it. The WWE is lucky he didn’t call the cops.

          • Bite Me You Loser

Well the fact that Del Rio won a settlement out of court means something went down.

          • NotU

All he won was his TV rights.

“Del Rio felt like he was let go for a stupid reason, so he took the WWE to court so that he could have the no compete clause
dropped. Del Rio wanted to work with AAA in Mexico, and due to the fact
that they are televised he would be unable to do so as a released WWE
            talent.

Del Rio won his case against WWE and is now able to appear with any promotion he chooses.”

          • Bite Me You Loser

That’s money to a lot of people. TNA was also courting Del Rio as well.

  • Zack

Fat chance. But his post WWE Shoot Interviews were entertaining. He should’ve had a Konnan attitude/swagger about him instead of Mexican JBL.

  • Alejandro

Del Rio said that he has nothing against WWE now that the company apologized to him for what occured in that incident with the social media guy but he doesn’t see himself going back to the company because of the grueling schedule.

  • Starman

Wasn’t he due to leave soon anyway before the firing? Can’t see him going back unless it’s they really want him back and offer him a lot.

  • xXwindsofchangeXx

I think WWE has a problem – namely that the stardom of Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio (at least when Rey was in his prime) is at such a level that anyone else who comes in after will unfairly be expected to be their equal. I think that situation, along with the incompatibility between lucha libre and the American ‘main event’ styles, makes WWE a place that’s not very attractive to Latino wrestlers anymore.

ADR was great until he lost all the trappings of his original gimmick. He maybe didn’t need the huge limo, but when he turned heel again by getting rid of Ricardo Rodriguez, things went south. Ricardo was part of what made him interesting, and given that they had no plans to branch him off into his own in-ring career, it was a move that sabotaged both guys and never should have been made. Can they rescue ADR if they bring him back? Possibly. Is it a great idea? If you’re thinking long-term, no. ADR’s been in the ring a long time, clearly likes where he is better, and he’s 38. You could well have the same problem in a couple of years when he retires from full-time action. I’d try to see if I could find someone younger – mid-20s or so – bring him into NXT, let him stay there for a couple of years, and then see what becomes of him on the main roster once he’s ready.

    As a dishwasher?

  • The Shockmaster

    It’s his destiny…

I liked ADR, one of the few who enjoyed his face run, which was going pretty well and gaining some steam until they screwed him by putting him over a very hot Ziggler and switching their roles. I mean, Ziggler screwed up and got punished, then got a concussion, and WWE stuck ADR in the middle of it which cost him a lot of fan support. So Ziggler and WWE screw up and ADR takes all the fan backlash. SMH.
